Summary

Adds /dwosi, the landing page for the Dev Weekends Open Source Initiative, in the MLH-style proof-of-work design: Dev Weekends orange on near-black, with its own header, footer and theme. DSOC stays at /dsoc.

Sections

  • Hero: "Where early-career engineers prove their work in public." with "View open issues" and "Partner with us", plus a living contribution graph labelled "Example".
  • The record: real pull requests from Pathment (three merged, one in review), each linking to GitHub.
  • Community numbers: published Dev Weekends figures (1,000+ trained, $20K+ stipends, 100+ remote placements, 20+ at Turing and Scale AI).
  • Pick a repository: Buildment, Pathment, Meshly Cloud (Community Cloud), Inroad, CodeHands AI and SafeStream, plus a tile for proposing a project.
  • Partners: four ways to partner, on a light band.
  • For hiring teams: "Skip the take-home. Read the history."
  • Closing call-to-action and footer.

Details

  • View open issues opens a GitHub search across the public DWOSI repos only, so it doesn't surface this website's own issues.
  • Dark by default with a light/dark toggle, independent of the site-wide theme. A small script in the root <head> applies a saved choice before first paint.
  • Readable buttons: white text on a deeper orange, measured at 4.57:1 (passes WCAG AA). The brighter brand orange (#FF6B35, shared with DSOC) stays on the logo, labels and graph.
  • Contribution graph: drawn on canvas, pauses off-screen, and shows a still frame for reduced motion.
  • Accessibility: 44px tap targets, visible focus outlines, hover effects only on mouse devices.
  • Hides the global header and footer on /dwosi* and adds /dwosi to the sitemap.
  • Adds a can-hover: Tailwind variant plus brand and cta colors. They're opt-in, so other pages are unaffected.
  • No dependency changes: package.json and package-lock.json match main.

Still needed

  • Public links for Buildment and SafeStream once their repos are public.
  • Confirm the hiring "Interview with context" step with the team.

Test plan

  • tsc: no errors in the changed files
  • next lint: no warnings or errors
  • CI "Guard against hidden code" checks pass locally
  • Headless Chrome at 390px and 1440px: no horizontal overflow, no console errors
  • Hero title stays on two lines from 768px to 1920px
  • Theme: a visitor whose OS is in light mode gets dark; the toggle switches to light and persists

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Add /dwosi, the landing page for the Dev Weekends Open Source Initiative,
with its own header, footer and design tokens so it stands apart from the
rest of the site. DSOC stays at /dsoc and is presented as the mentored
program inside DWOSI.

- Showcases Buildment, Pathment, Community Cloud, Inroad, GoalSlot and the
Content Control Platform, with a real screenshot where one exists
- Dark by default with its own light/dark toggle, independent of the site
theme; a head script applies a saved choice before first paint
- Living contribution-graph background on canvas that pauses off-screen
and draws a still frame for reduced motion
- Real proof only: published Dev Weekends numbers, plus DSOC impact
stories from the database once they are approved in the admin
- Built on shadcn/ui; adds the Accordion component
  (@radix-ui/react-accordion 1.3.1) and a can-hover Tailwind variant
- Hides the global header and footer on /dwosi and adds it to the sitemap
