Chrome Webstore OnlyKey Configuration is no longer available

The chrome Web store version of the OnlyKey Configuration relies on Manifest v2 and this is being deprecated by chrome. Thus it is no longer possible to download and use the configuration tool.

Yes, chrome planned to discontinue chrome apps back in 2020 but extended it out. They are I think this year finally doing it so once that happens you will not be able to use the app on Chromebooks.

However, I saw in the document somewhere that recommended using the chrome app. That's why I wanted to open this ticket. Sadly, I cannot seem to find the webpage again though.

We will update the documentation. Here is the EOL schedule for chrome apps

July 2025 (currently scheduled for ChromeOS M138)—Last ChromeOS release with support for user-installed Chrome apps on ChromeOS. Admin-installed Chrome apps in kiosk mode are disabled by default—To re-enable them, in the Google Admin console, set Chrome Apps allowed for kiosk mode to Keep using Chrome apps in kiosk sessions for a limited time. For details, go to Set ChromeOS device policies.

July 2026 (currently scheduled for ChromeOS M150)—Last ChromeOS release with support for Chrome apps in kiosk mode. For devices on the Long-term support (LTS) channel, Chrome apps in kiosk mode will receive support until April 2027.
February 2027 (currently scheduled for ChromeOS M156)—Admin-installed Chrome apps in user sessions are disabled by default and require admins to set a policy to re-enable.

February 2028 (currently scheduled for ChromeOS M168)—Last ChromeOS release with support for Chrome apps, marking the end of life for all Chrome apps. Devices on the LTS channel can continue to use Chrome Apps until October 2028. No exceptions will be granted.

as @Anthonyntilelli already identified:
that part should removed immediatly from documentatation or alternativley get some deprecation hint. I ran in the same issue and was completely confused.

Please fix that asap.
