effortless-dist

Public distribution for Effortless — a single-binary, zero-build web framework for small internal tools and CRUD apps.

The source repo stays private. This repo contains releases only: prebuilt binaries + checksums, install.sh, README.md, LICENSE, CHANGELOG.md. No source, ever.

Install

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/softkittens/effortless-dist/main/install.sh | sh

Supported platforms:

• Linux/x86_64 → effortless-linux-x86_64
• Darwin/arm64 (Apple Silicon) → effortless-darwin-arm64

Pin a version (also the rollback path):

EFFORTLESS_VERSION=v0.1.6 sh install.sh

Choose install location (default: /usr/local/bin if writable, else ~/.local/bin):

EFFORTLESS_PREFIX="$HOME/.local/bin" sh install.sh

Every download is verified against its .sha256 before install.

Update

effortless update          # update now, no prompt
effortless update --check  # report only

effortless serve checks once a day (dev + TTY only) and offers to update and restart in place. Declining is remembered per version.

See Releases for binaries, checksums, and per-version notes. Tags are v<major>.<minor>.<patch> and match shard.yml in the private source repo.
