Nine of my 32 non-fork repos carry a tracked AGENTS.md, and seven of those have been mechanically substituted from a copy of CLAUDE.md: every "Claude" became "Codex," including the ones inside file paths. The result is a tracked file telling a reader to edit .Codex-plugin/plugin.json and that my global infrastructure lives at ~/.Codex/. Neither path exists.

The `.Codex/` directory (note: no hyphen, different from `.Codex-plugin/`) is boilerplate
from a local git template (project-specific config/hook scaffolding for Andrew's global
Codex infrastructure at `~/.Codex/`).
I don't use Codex, nothing in any repo reads AGENTS.md, and I'd rather not maintain another tool's config by hand. So the fix is to stop tracking it rather than to repair the substitution.
Per repo:
git rm AGENTS.md
printf 'AGENTS.md\n' >> .gitignore
.gitignore rather than .git/info/exclude, since the intent is permanent and other people should see it. Worth remembering that the ignore rule alone does nothing to a file that's already tracked: without the git rm, git keeps tracking it and the rule is silently inert.
Already done in twistedmelonman/personify as part of the 2.0 changeset. The remaining eight, with substitution hit counts:

The two at zero are clean copies with no bad paths. They still go, for the same reason: nothing reads them.
smartwatermelon/repo-template doesn't ship one, so nothing regenerates these. Whatever created them was per-repo and is not still running.
