Supersedes #863. Builds on Lavanya's branch, so her commits are included, and updates it for the 2.0.0 GA release (Oct 27). #863 was written against 2.0.0-rc.3, and GA changed several of the things it describes.

Checked against the 2.0.0 registry docs: Migrating from 1.x and Legacy shims.

Changes on top of #863

  • Version pin: ~> 2.0 everywhere, RC notes removed.
  • REST v1: removed all Nov 15 retirement warnings. 2.0.0 makes no REST v1 calls, so the retirement doesn't affect it.
  • base_url / rest_v1_url: 1.x configs should remove base_url, not move it to rest_v1_url. rest_v1_url is deprecated and ignored, and RUNPOD_BASE_URL / RUNPOD_REST_V1_URL aren't read.
  • Deprecated shims section rewritten: sources are GraphQL or REST v2. readme can't be cleared ("" is rejected). docker_entrypoint on templates is no longer deprecated, but it can't be set together with args. gpu_type_priority / cpu_flavor_priority are kept but never sent. volume_encrypted reads false, not null. Billing shims now return per-pod / per-volume records.
  • New in 2.0.0: added global volumes (runpod_global_volume, global_volumes on Pods and GPU endpoints) and the runpod_pods / runpod_templates / runpod_serverless_endpoints / runpod_network_volumes data sources.
  • Release note: moved to Oct 27 and reworded as GA.
  • Beta labels removed from the sidebar group, migration page tag, and overview note. Bohdan, please confirm we're calling the provider GA.
