fix(deps): update module gopkg.in/yaml.v2 to v3 - #1042
No merge-blocking risk from the YAML update was identified. Release signing and provenance remain a separate existing gap.

Description Check
Check skipped - CodeRabbit’s high-level summary is enabled.
Title check
The title clearly describes the main change: replacing gopkg.in/yaml.v2 imports with gopkg.in/yaml.v3 across the affected files.
Docstring Coverage
Docstring coverage is inconclusive: files from earlier reviews still need to be rechecked within the check's analysis limits. Not blocking.
Linked Issues check

Out of Scope Changes check

Stable And Deterministic Test Names
The pull request changes only YAML imports and dependency declarations. It adds no Ginkgo test titles or other test-name changes, so it introduces no unstable or overly specific test names.

Microshift Test Compatibility
PASS: The pull request changes only YAML imports and dependency declarations. The authoritative diff adds no Ginkgo e2e tests, so the MicroShift test-compatibility check is not applicable.
Single Node Openshift (Sno) Test Compatibility
The pull request changes only YAML imports and go.mod dependency classification. The authoritative diff contains no new Ginkgo tests or other test files, so it introduces no SNO multi-node or HA assum…

Full details: Test Structure And Quality
Explanation
PASS. The pull request changes eight source/dependency files only. The reviewed diff adds or modifies no Ginkgo test files and no It(), BeforeEach, AfterEach, Eventually, or Consistently blocks. Therefore, none of the specified test-quality conditions apply.
Full details: Single Node Openshift (Sno) Test Compatibility
Explanation
The pull request changes only YAML imports and go.mod dependency classification. The authoritative diff contains no new Ginkgo tests or other test files, so it introduces no SNO multi-node or HA assumptions.
Full details: Topology-Aware Scheduling Compatibility
Explanation
The pull request changes only YAML import paths in seven Go files and dependency classification in go.mod. It does not add or modify deployment manifests, operator scheduling code, controllers, node selectors, affinity, topology spread constraints, replica logic, or PDBs. Therefore, it introduces no topology-aware scheduling compatibility issue.
Full details: Ote Binary Stdout Contract
Explanation
PASS: The PR changes only YAML import paths and dependency metadata. No main(), init(), TestMain(), Ginkgo suite setup, or top-level initializer changed. The existing stdout calls in command functions and main() are outside the PR diff, so the PR introduces no process-level stdout write that can violate the OTE JSON contract.
Full details: Ipv6 And Disconnected Network Test Compatibility
Explanation
PASS: The pull request changes only YAML imports and go.mod dependency placement. The authoritative diff adds no Ginkgo e2e tests and introduces no IPv4 assumptions or external connectivity requirements.
Full details: No-Weak-Crypto
Explanation
PASS. The pull request only changes YAML imports and moves gopkg.in/yaml.v2 to an indirect go.mod requirement. The changed lines add no MD5, SHA1, DES, RC4, 3DES, Blowfish, ECB, custom crypto, or secret-comparison logic.
Full details: Container-Privileges
Explanation
PASS: The PR changes only Go YAML imports and go.mod dependency placement. The diff contains no container or Kubernetes manifest changes and no privileged, hostPID, hostNetwork, hostIPC, SYS_ADMIN, root, or allowPrivilegeEscalation settings.
Full details: No-Sensitive-Data-In-Logs
Explanation
The pull request changes only YAML import paths and dependency declarations. The reviewed diff adds no logging calls, log messages, or sensitive-data output paths. The existing logging and printed output code is unchanged.

Hi @red-hat-konflux-kflux-prd-rh02[bot]. Thanks for your PR.
I'm waiting for a openshift member to verify that this patch is reasonable to test. If it is, they should reply with /ok-to-test on its own line. Until that is done, I will not automatically test new commits in this PR, but the usual testing commands by org members will still work.
Regular contributors should join the org to skip this step.
Once the patch is verified, the new status will be reflected by the ok-to-test label.

Add provenance attestation and artifact signing to the release pipeline.
The repository requires build provenance attestations and Sigstore/cosign signing for artifacts. The release path does not provide either control. Both release workflows run GoReleaser with .goreleaser.yml, and that configuration publishes archives and a SHA-256 checksum file to GitHub. It has no signing or attestation configuration, and the workflows have no attestation step. The coding guideline does not separately require an SBOM artifact, so SBOM generation is not part of this requirement.
This gap exists in both the PR base and the PR head. This PR does not change the release files, so the gopkg.in/yaml.v2 change does not cause it. Track this as a separate release-focused change.
