Summary

  • Give the 22 informative post images descriptive alt text, including the Extreme Programming cover so that link has a name.
  • Keep the two reaction closings decorative and replace their GIFs with animated WebP under 1MB (giphy 7.10MB → 856 KiB, magic 1.46MB → 572 KiB).
  • Fail the post suite when a new ![](path) shows up outside fenced code, except those two reactions.

The Next.js image optimizer serves both animated WebP files intact and logs: The requested resource is an animated image so it will not be optimized. Consider adding the "unoptimized" property to the <Image>. MdxImage is unchanged.

Test plan

  • axe on the eight /blog/<slug> routes: zero link-name and zero image-alt.
  • No file in public/media/posts/ is over 1MB.
  • The two closings still change frames; figures that had captions still show them; the Extreme Programming cover opens Amazon.
  • pnpm lint, pnpm typecheck, pnpm test, and pnpm test:e2e pass.

…s (ENG-159)

Screenshots and the book cover were invisible to assistive tech, and two reaction GIFs were over 1MB.
