Compiled programs now preserve computed tag receivers, numeric coercion hooks, hexadecimal parsing, Math singleton/nonfinite/signed-zero behavior, BigInt async/generator operations, and static descriptor semantics. Console-restoration tests account for public Console writer normalization without serializing the parallel harness.

Each of the 16 open issues in #1930–#1960 has its own commit. #1956 credits the already merged repair in #1969: the reported ARM64 baseline reproduces the crash and invalid isinst on a double; independently rebuilt current main verifies and executes correctly. This PR adds original-source deployment regressions and documents that resolution.

Review follow-ups stop inherited lookup at the nearest ordinary static field and route strict writes through the checked static-field path for both generic and ordinary class aliases. New regressions cover writable intermediate ancestors and nearer read-only descriptors.

The initial Windows core job reached its 20-minute step budget without an assertion failure. Historical deployment probes now run through six methods in the existing standalone shards, retaining every source, declaration mode, hosted/standalone execution, and 30-second deadline. Hosted output uses AsyncLocal capture. Fresh-process console probes run the actual test module initializer, first/repeated executions, error/cancellation controls, public writer identities, and raw-proxy restoration. The pre-existing serial CompilationService collection is unchanged; temporary public normalization restores raw proxies on exit.

Validation:

  • Focused issue acceptance checks, including interpreted controls and compiled API execution.
  • CLI standalone IL verification and standalone/hosted execution with the preserved 30-second deadlines; output remains independent of SharpTS.dll.
  • Initial hermetic Release core: 24,314 passed, three platform skips; GUI: 134 passed. After the follow-ups and deployment move, the complete core suite passed again: 24,260 passed, three platform skips, in 5.55 minutes locally.
  • All 2,165 standalone cases executed. Ten legacy expectations still recorded the repaired bugs; updated those assertions without changing their sources, then reran all six affected groups: 121 passed. The other 2,155 standalone cases passed in the full run.
  • TypeScript conformance smoke: 32 pinned corpus cases, 17 tests passed.
  • Analyzer/code-quality and workflow-policy gates passed; diff whitespace checks passed.
  • Review fix: 50 static-property checks passed. All 60 migrated deployment cases, both fresh-process console probes, and the original 20 compilation-service tests passed (82 checks). Shard discovery includes every new method exactly once. Code-quality gates passed again.
  • Current-head CI (18384cf): all 12 standalone shards, Ubuntu/Windows build and core jobs, conformance, AOT, Desktop GUI gates, and the CodeRabbit check passed. Conditional checks were skipped as expected. CI run, Desktop GUI run.

Scope: the separately recorded interpreter unary-plus/radix-36 discrepancies and interpreter indexed-array descriptor enforcement remain outside these compiled fixes. Exact historical sources rejected by current ambient declarations retain noLib deployment probes; typed controls also check default declarations.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

Compiled expression and runtime behavior changes cover BigInt, property writes, tagged templates, coercion, numeric operations, Math, and static descriptors. Tests add regression and deployment coverage. An archived report records Windows ARM64 verification results for issue 1956.

Changes

Compiled runtime behavior

Layer / File(s) Summary
Expression emission and writes
src/SharpTS/Compilation/ExpressionEmitterBase.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/ExpressionEmitterBase.Operators.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/ILEmitter.Expressions.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/ILEmitter.Operators.cs, tests/SharpTS.Tests/CompilerTests/StandaloneDllTests.cs
BigInt literals use shared emission in expression paths. Tagged-template calls preserve the receiver for property and computed-index tags. Property writes in assignment and increment paths use strict or non-strict helpers according to the compilation context.
Coercion and radix parsing
src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.Coercion.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.Number.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.RuntimeClass.cs, tests/SharpTS.Tests/CompilerTests/StandaloneDllTests.cs
Numeric-hint conversion is shared by number-conversion paths. Boxed-primitive string conversion processes Symbol.toPrimitive first. Explicit radix 16 parsing strips hexadecimal prefixes. Updated expectations cover these behaviors.
Math behavior and global identity
src/SharpTS/Compilation/Emitters/GlobalThisStaticEmitter.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.MathAdapters.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.Objects.Utilities.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.RuntimeClass.cs, tests/SharpTS.Tests/CompilerTests/StandaloneDllTests.cs
globalThis.Math is obtained through the runtime global-object lookup. Math adapters preserve signed-zero results, and Math.sumPrecise deoptimizes numeric-array storage before indexed reads. Tests update Math identity and special-value expectations.
Static descriptors and property reflection
src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.HasOwnProperty.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.Objects.Descriptors.DefineProperty.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.Objects.SetProperty.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.PropertyDescriptorStore.cs, tests/SharpTS.Tests/SharedTests/ClassStaticDescriptorTests.cs
String length is treated as non-enumerable. Static descriptor handling recognizes qualifying own fields, checks inherited non-writable data properties, and looks up generic type descriptors by their definitions. Three static descriptor tests now run in both execution modes.
Regression and execution coverage
tests/SharpTS.Tests/SharedTests/HistoricalRuntimeRegressionTests.cs, tests/SharpTS.Tests/CompilerTests/HistoricalRuntimeDeploymentTests.cs, tests/SharpTS.Tests/CompilerTests/StandaloneDllTests*.cs, tests/SharpTS.Tests/Compilation/CompilationServiceTests.cs, tests/SharpTS.Tests/Infrastructure/AsyncLocalConsoleRedirector.cs, tests/SharpTS.Tests/SharpTS.Tests.csproj, tests/fixtures/SharpTS.ConsoleRestorationFixture/*
Historical regression tests add cases and compare complete output. Selected deployment cases run with --noLib. Console restoration tests execute repeatedly and check both writers; the test project adds a fixture that runs console checks in fresh processes.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to 18384

Some strict writes may leave a class property with different values depending on how it is read. Read-only protections are strengthened, and no new privilege or deployment exposure was demonstrated, but complete isolation was not established.

Retained concerns

  • Medium · architecture · inferred: The newly enabled ordinary-class strict-write bridge delegates to a writer whose CLR-field update remains generic-only. An accepted write to an ordinary writable own field can therefore establish descriptor state without updating the actual field. Repeated writes preserve that split, while direct own-field consumers bypass the descriptor. This undermines consistent ownership of shared class state; no resulting privilege escalation is established.
Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The demonstrated runtime sink is in-process static class and descriptor state reachable through the executing program’s receiver, property name and value. The inspected paths do not establish a tenant boundary or sandbox guarantee, and no cross-tenant or host-privilege escalation was demonstrated.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — Descriptor writability, reflected read-only-field status and receiver extensibility remain checks before accepted strict static-field mutation. The new inherited-data check strengthens rejection before shadow creation; these language-level controls are not evidence of host isolation.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • observed — Hosted regression output capture now uses a disposable logical-context override rather than temporarily replacing process-wide stdout. The releaser restores the previous override idempotently, and scoped runtime disposal precedes capture disposal. Raw-thread propagation and writes outliving disposal remain unestablished.

Explanation

HistoricalRuntimeRegressionTests.Cases adds a non-writable indexed-array update case. This tests indexed-array descriptor enforcement, which is distinct from the linked issues’ compiled static-property and runtime objectives. The PR description also identifies indexed-array descriptor enforcement as outside the compiled fixes. No directly linked issue requires this added case.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Stop at the nearest inherited static property.

If Base.count has a non-writable descriptor, Middle declares its own writable static count, and Leaf extends Middle, an assignment to Leaf.count should create an own property. GetStaticShadow skips Middle because its field has no PDS descriptor, then returns the read-only descriptor from Base. This guard rejects the valid write. Check each ancestor’s own static field as well as its descriptor, and apply the attributes of the nearest property.
