Fix the runtime behaviors tracked by #1941, #1942, #1944–#1953, with one commit per requested issue and follow-up commits for verification and review findings.

BigInt typed array writes preserve signed/unsigned wrapping and shared buffers. Constructor aliases invoke BigInt and Boolean correctly; Number aliases already worked on the current baseline and now have explicit cross-path regression coverage. Inherited ordinary getters/setters keep the original receiver, top-level strict directives reach module initialization, custom string-valued Symbol.toStringTag controls branding, deleted symbol keys reinsert at the end, and array/Promise callback metadata reports the correct enumerability. Compiled primitive strings expose their length descriptor.

Regression coverage runs the preserved programs and independent controls through interpreted and compiled APIs, CLI standalone execution, and actual hosted initialization, both with default declarations and --noLib. CLI outputs pass IL verification and retain the 30-second execution deadline. Active standalone assertions for resolved defects now expect reference behavior; archived sources, failure observations, expectations, and deadlines remain unchanged.

#1953 is scoped to the first descriptor line of its preserved probe. Its complete source and reference expectation are retained; the independent second-line propertyIsEnumerable mismatch remains #1954.

Validation:

  • Release solution build passed.

  • 329 focused regression, emitter-contract, class-static, branding, and AOT architecture checks passed.

  • Historical-evidence verification passed (19 source-bound programs and 54 recorded IL checks).

  • Code-quality gates passed.

  • Full core suite passed: 24,202 passed, 3 skipped, 0 failed.

  • Final review fixes passed all 1,651 relevant checks: 1,579 type-checker tests and 72 cross-path historical regressions.

  • Complete isolated standalone suite passed: 2,165 passed, 0 failed.

  • Linux CI identified the existing minimal-assembly size limit. Shared global descriptor builders and a single BigInt tag lookup reduce local minimal output to 272,896 bytes without changing the 275,500-byte limit. 476 affected checks, 86 final emitter/size checks, and a 33-intrinsic descriptor identity/flags probe passed.

  • All 298 final branding and cross-path checks passed, including own and inherited non-string BigInt tag getters. Interpreter and compiler read those getters once and match Node.

  • Final head 8349060 passed CI and Desktop GUI gates: Linux/Windows core suites, all 12 standalone shards, TypeScript conformance, AOT checks, debugger smoke, and desktop packaging/native gates. The latest automated review produced no actionable findings; both earlier review threads are resolved.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The changes update compiled and interpreted property behavior, strict-mode propagation, built-in invocation, and BigInt typed-array conversion. They also change DataView buffer type checking and add runtime regression and deployment tests.

Changes

Runtime compatibility

Layer / File(s) Summary
Property descriptors and enumeration
src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.HasOwnProperty.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.Objects.Descriptors*.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.Objects.Index.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.RuntimeClass.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.StringPrototypeStubs.cs, src/SharpTS/Runtime/Types/SharpTSArray.cs, src/SharpTS/Runtime/Types/SharpTSObjectPrototype.cs
Compiled property checks treat Promise callback names and list-backed array lengths as non-enumerable when no descriptor determines the result. Primitive string length produces a non-writable, non-enumerable, non-configurable descriptor. Symbol descriptor redefinition preserves omitted fields, and successful symbol deletion rebuilds the remaining dictionary. String-valued Symbol.toStringTag values affect Object.prototype.toString.
Inherited properties and strict mode
src/SharpTS/Compilation/ILCompiler.Modules.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/ILEmitter.Properties.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.Objects.SetProperty.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.Reflect.cs, src/SharpTS/Execution/Interpreter.Expressions.cs, src/SharpTS/Execution/Interpreter.Properties.cs
Module and script contexts set strict mode from their directive prologues. Compiled and interpreted property handling checks inherited ordinary-object descriptors and setters. Compiled reads continue through prototypes while retaining the original receiver for Reflect.get. Typed-record reads fall through to ordinary lookup when the record lacks the key.
Built-in calls and BigInt typed arrays
src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.BigInt.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.Objects.Invocation.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.RuntimeClass.cs, src/SharpTS/Compilation/RuntimeEmitter.TSTypedArray.cs, src/SharpTS/Runtime/BuiltIns/BigIntBuiltIns.cs, src/SharpTS/Runtime/Types/SharpTSTypedArray.cs
Compiled value invocation handles BigInt and Boolean aliases. BigInt typed-array assignments convert supported inputs and store the low 64 bits for signed and unsigned arrays. The runtime exposes the BigInt creator, and the BigInt string parser is accessible to typed-array conversion.
Historical runtime and deployment tests
tests/SharpTS.Tests/SharedTests/HistoricalRuntimeRegressionTests.cs, tests/SharpTS.Tests/CompilerTests/HistoricalRuntimeDeploymentTests.cs, tests/SharpTS.Tests/CompilerTests/StandaloneDllTests.cs
Historical fixtures check expected output in interpreted and compiled modes. Deployment tests cover hosted and standalone execution with both noLib settings, IL verification, output, and the absence of SharpTS.dll. Existing standalone expectations are updated for BigInt typed-array assignment, built-in aliases, and inherited properties.

DataView buffer type validation

Layer / File(s) Summary
Global buffer compatibility
src/SharpTS/TypeSystem/TypeChecker.cs, src/SharpTS/TypeSystem/TypeChecker.Properties.New.cs, tests/SharpTS.Tests/TypeCheckerTests/DataViewBufferTypeTests.cs
DataView buffer validation accepts interfaces compatible with globally declared ArrayBuffer or SharedArrayBuffer types. Tests cover accepted and rejected interface types.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to 83490

Strict-mode initialization may bypass inherited write restrictions or setter validation. The inspected changes did not establish host privilege escalation, but incomplete shared-memory and failure-path verification prevents a minimal-risk assessment.

Retained concerns

  • Medium · reliability · inferred: New strict initializer callers can bypass inherited write-policy enforcement. Strict assignment checks the receiver's own descriptors and storage without traversing its prototypes, allowing an extensible ordinary receiver to acquire an own property instead of rejecting an inherited read-only write or invoking an inherited setter. The strict helper predates this PR, but propagating top-level strict directives expands its use. This weakens property-integrity and receiver-ownership guarantees across execution paths; no host privilege escalation was demonstrated.
Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The identified integrity concern reaches ordinary compiled receivers during module, script, and hosted initialization. It requires an assignment to a receiver with an inherited restriction or setter. The established outcome is altered guest object state or skipped setter execution; escalation into host services or other tenants was not established.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • inferred — An assignment routed through newly honored strict initialization can bypass an inherited setter or read-only descriptor because the strict helper consults only receiver-local metadata before storing. Own-property restrictions remain enforced, which limits this concern to inherited write policy. This is a source-derived concern, not a reproduced security exploit.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — Global descriptor synthesis remains guarded by global-object identity, explicit-descriptor precedence, and the deletion ledger. Sharing descriptor builders does not remove these controls or broaden the recognized global-name list.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • observed — Volatile BigInt writes still use separate narrowing conversions that predate this PR, while direct writes use the new wrapping conversion. Both complete conversion before their write instruction. The supplied aliasing controls use ArrayBuffer and do not establish SharedArrayBuffer concurrency or interruption guarantees.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Use a common receiver-aware inherited-descriptor decision for strict and non-strict assignment, with strictness determining only whether refusal throws. Validate inherited setters, getter-only properties, and read-only data through each initialization route, including setter failure and reentrant writes.
