Hobbyist. I learn how something works, then I have to build one. That's how I ended up with a radio in my terminal.
I write software after the day job, mostly Rust, mostly for the terminal. Current obsession: radio.
sdrtop was supposed to print a few numbers from an SDR. It's now a bench instrument living in your terminal: spectrum, waterfall, noise figure, IQ diagnostics, RDS, and a Bluetooth bench I genuinely didn't plan. Keyboard only, happy over SSH, small enough for a cyberdeck screen.
The demodulator deliberately refuses to play audio. It reads radios, it doesn't play them, and that confuses everyone exactly once.
Tested on HackRF One, RTL-SDR and tinySA Ultra. Everything else runs through SoapySDR, on the honor system.
I don't have a specialty so much as a rotating cast of obsessions. Right now it's radio. Before that it was a homelab dashboard, and a retired phone I talked into running containers. Next is whatever I understand least.
