Findings: Changes Related to React Native Version Support

Several dependencies in this update include work directly relevant to supporting the new React Native 0.88 profile being added, as well as prior RN 0.87 support that these versions now include.

react-native-test-app (^5.4.8 → 5.4.12)

• #2937 – "fix: support setup-env.js introduced in 0.88" — directly addresses RN 0.88 compatibility (new setup-env.js file introduced in that release).
• #2846 – "fix: declare support for 0.87"
• #2827 – "fix(android): bump Gradle wrapper version for 0.87"

react-native-gesture-handler (^3.1.0 → 3.3.0)

• #4497 – "Support React Native 0.87 on 2.x" — brings RN 0.87 support, including removal of the now-unused RCTRootContentView.h iOS import (no longer present in prebuilt React-Core framework).
• #4166 – "Support React Native 0.86"

react-native-reanimated (^4.5.3 → 4.7.0)

• #10051 – "Types adjustments to support strict/legacy TS APIs from RN 0.87-rc.2" — adapts type definitions for RN 0.87's stricter/legacy TypeScript API surface.

react-native-screens (^4.27.0 → 4.28.0)

• #4658 – "chore(FabricExample): bump libs to versions that support RN 0.87"

react-native-safe-area-context (^5.8.0 → 5.10.0)

• #757 – "Remove old architecture support after RN 0.87 update" — drops legacy (Paper) architecture support following RN 0.87, aligning the package fully with the New Architecture that RN 0.88 also requires.
• #766 – "Modernize React Native architecture, compatibility, and tooling"

Other packages

No RN-0.87/0.88-specific compatibility changes were found for react-native-webview, @react-native-async-storage/async-storage, @react-native-community/datetimepicker, or @react-navigation/* in the version ranges being bumped — their recent changes are primarily feature additions/fixes unrelated to new RN version support.
