Produce the 2.0 freeze readiness report #454
Description
Goal and background
The freeze is based on verified contracts. A plan or the existence of test files does not establish that the checks pass.
Parent tracker: #445
Baseline: 70444b18c8102fa7a9d811ec51ef96902573792c
Phase: 2.0 freeze
Ownership and scope
Cross-package validation and public contracts
Dependencies
- Define the 2.0 freeze contract and audit baseline #446
- Freeze class, selector, condition and mode semantics #447
- Freeze directive removal and native definition ownership #448
- Specify and verify the cascade priority matrix #449
- Formalize Manifest v1 and language v3 compatibility #450
- Verify static, SSR, progressive and runtime equivalence #451
- Align inspection, validation, lint, LSP and MCP contracts #452
- Complete migration guidance and public language documentation #453
Implementation tasks
- Collect contracts, findings, intentional changes, PRs, commands, and actual results.
- After scoped checks, run broader validation appropriate to cross-package risk.
- Resolve all required and recommended 2.0 items. Move deferred work explicitly to 2.x.
- Record the support matrix, payload/performance limits, version boundaries, and unresolved blockers.
Acceptance criteria
- The report clearly states PASS or BLOCKED and does not conceal unrun checks or pre-existing failures.
- No required or recommended 2.0 items remain open; every deferral has a follow-up issue.
- No npm publication, version bumps, or unrelated release changes. Aron separately authorized shared build, validation CI and preview repairs under Master CSS 2.0 Architecture & Language Freeze / 2.x Roadmap #445 on 2026-09-27.
Validation
Applicable Rust/npm tests, lint, type-check/build, parity, boundary/package/artifact checks, runtime e2e/size checks, and AI context validation.
Completion report
Include source and test evidence, PRs, actual commands and results, and any CSS/API/syntax/migration impact. Checks that were not run or were blocked must not be reported as passing.
Final acceptance (2026-09-28)
Readiness: PASS. All required/recommended 2.0 items in #446–#453 are resolved and integrated. The public example and RFC deliverables in #455/#456 are complete. Deferred implementation/research has explicit follow-ups #457–#460, which remain open. #444 remains a separate published-RC report. No required freeze item remains blocked.
Merged into rust through PR #461 at 262adb809b928af7082107e1b5633d945cb7f427. The verified candidate is 16a90bdde96ef08ba4312e5d94aaf36d50048dca; removal commit 9d9817241 is preserved through integration merge e231a700e.
Final CI passes Linux package tests/lint/types (111/111 tasks), site build/CSS contract/Playground/lint/types and examples (36/36); Windows package tests (59/59 tasks, including Vite 676/676) and examples (36/36); Rust fmt/Clippy/workspace/codegen/parity; eight native targets; and Linux runtime/Next E2E. Runtime E2E passes 432 cases across Chromium, Firefox and WebKit, plus 10 Next cases.
Both deployments at this exact candidate pass page, canonical and removal-notice checks: Cloudflare and Vercel. Cloudflare health passes. Visual checks on the preceding candidate cover identical production site sources.
The dated audit preserves scoped commands and historical failures; this final result supersedes its pending CI status. The Compose integration review and site CSS review explain intentional contract changes. Site lint has 265 existing warnings and zero errors. No npm publication, package rename, version bump, lockfile change or release-workflow change is included.
