Hi there ๐Ÿ‘‹

I'm Kimsay, a Bioinformatics Engineer based in France.

I enjoy turning biological and scientific questions into computational projects, building tools, and finding ways to make complex data easier to work with.

Working on a variety of bioinformatics projects, from machine learning and data analysis to scientific software development, has naturally pushed me to broaden my skill set. Each new problem called for a different tool: Python to analyse data and build software, Nextflow and Bash to build and automate reproducible pipelines, and SQL to structure, manage and explore databases.

Along the way, these projects taught me to pick up new technologies quickly and to choose the right tool for the question at hand.

Tools & Technologies

  • Programming Languages: Python, R, SQL, Bash
  • Development & Databases: Django, PostgreSQL
  • Bioinformatics & Workflow Management: Galaxy, Planemo, Nextflow
  • Environment & Version Control: Linux, Git, GitHub, GitLab

Fun Facts:

  • ๐ŸŽจ I enjoy oil painting.
  • ๐Ÿ† I'm quite competitive.
  • โ™Ÿ๏ธ I love a challenge that takes time, patience and a bit of strategy. The harder it is, the more rewarding it feels in the end.
