with the HTTP timeout, Range resume and retries moved into the source the feed loop collapses to one path for both sources

…tion Two changes to src/fls/from_url.rs addressing PR #20 review comments: 1. Benny's suggestion: move the HTTP timeout, Range resume, and retry logic into a SourceFeed abstraction so the feed loop is a single path for both local and HTTP sources. Adds SourceFeed and FeedEnd, and pipeline_stopped_error to report the real cause when the pipeline stops early. Removes the double loop, the is_local branches, the local select!, and the now-unused get_writer_error / writer_join_error. 2. CodeRabbit: reject a local source that is the same file as a regular-file destination before DeviceWriter can truncate it. Compares file identities (device + inode) rather than path strings, so equivalent paths (symlinks, hard links) are detected. Assisted-by: OpenCode Co-Authored-By: Qwen 3.8 27B <noreply@qwen.ai>

Add SSH remote block writer with pipelined streaming and URI support Introduce an SSH remote block writer to stream HTTP and OCI images using the embedded write head. It dynamically probes the target OS and CPU to upload a compatible binary and supports ZERO fills, compression, and size bounds. Core features and improvements: - Connection & Auth: Support ssh://[user@]host[:port]/device URIs, properly handling IPv6 and replacing the --ssh-port flag. Make strict SSH host-key checking opt-in, defaulting to batch mode for seamless streaming. - Performance & Pipelining: Pipeline SSH writes with a byte-weighted bounded ACK window for backpressure. A temporary switch to slot-based sync_channel was reverted to maintain high throughput (21 MB/s) on sparse images. - Stability & Deadlock Fixes: Fix a feed-loop deadlock that occurred when the remote writer stopped mid-flash. The sender now joins the reader thread on failure to surface the actual remote error instead of broken-pipe symptoms. - Diagnostics & Error Handling: Capture platform-probe stderr in returned errors, clearly report diagnostic commands, and strictly reject malformed ssh:// URIs instead of falling back to local paths. - Progress Tracking: Match SSH completion counts to logical offsets, keeping final progress accurate for sparse images with skipped sections. --------- Co-authored-by: GPT-6.1 Sol <noreply@openai.com> Co-authored-by: Qwen 3.8 27B <noreply@qwen.ai> Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Rename the `from-url` command to `from`, keeping `from-url` as a deprecated alias that prints a warning. Accept plain local paths and `file://`-prefixed paths as sources; `file://` is a literal path prefix, not a URI. Local files stream in bounded 64 KiB reads through the same decompression, sparse, and writer pipeline as downloads, with no network timeout and no download retries: local failures are reported immediately. Report input progress as `Read` for local sources and `Download` for network sources, print HTTP-specific settings only for HTTP/HTTPS sources, and rename the public API `flash_from_url` to `flash_from`. Observe source EOF before treating a completed gzip writer as premature failure. Keep writer-failure detection on buffer sends and reject truncated HTTP responses. Recognize HTTP and HTTPS schemes case-insensitively in source selection and CLI output, preserving path, query, and header case. Add CLI regressions for completed gzip writes under stdout backpressure, truncated HTTP bodies, and mixed-case schemes. Assisted-by: OpenCode Co-Authored-By: GPT-6 Astra <noreply@openai.com>

A gzip body shorter than its Content-Length can finish the decompressor and the writer before the feed loop observes the truncated stream. pipeline_stopped_error now takes the source error and returns it when both tasks succeeded, so the HTTP transfer error is reported instead of a misleading decompressor message. Writer and decompressor failures remain the reported cause when either task failed. Assisted-by: OpenCode Co-Authored-By: Qwen 3.8 27B <noreply@qwen.ai>
