docs: the hosted service is paused, not closed - #32
Conversation
The status lines said the hosted Vectorless service was closing and the project no longer developed. It is paused: the data is backed up and the infrastructure kept as code so it can return, and the code stays open source. Badges and wording now say so.
Reviewer's guide (collapsed on small PRs)Reviewer's GuideDocumentation-only update to README status language, replacing the inaccurate closure and abandonment messaging with the paused-service status and more accurate expectations for issue and pull-request responses. File-Level Changes

## Status
-pdfgrab was written for [Vectorless](https://github.com/hallelx2/vectorless-engine). The hosted Vectorless service is closing (decided 2026-10-11), and pdfgrab, like the rest of the project, is open source and no longer actively developed. Issues and pull requests may not get a reply. For anything else, write to halleluyaholudele@gmail.com.
+pdfgrab was written for [Vectorless](https://github.com/hallelx2/vectorless-engine). The hosted Vectorless service has been paused since 12 October 2026, and pdfgrab stays open source like the engine it was written for. Issues and pull requests are read, but replies may be slow. For anything else, write to halleluyaholudele@gmail.com.
All four pdfplumber table strategies are implemented (`lines`, `lines_strict`, `text`, `explicit`) and can be mixed per axis. There is also an opt-in `auto` strategy, opt-in text-edge region detection and a `pdfgrab` CLI.

**Recovery assurances are missing**
When readers consult the README to understand whether the service can return, readers checking whether the pause is reversible get only the paused-status statement; the README omits the stated backup and infrastructure-as-code facts, so it does not explain how the service can return.
Add that the service data is backed up and its infrastructure is kept as code so readers know how it can be restored.

Review on the status rewrite: name the backup and infrastructure-as-code that make a return possible, and keep an honest note on pace.
The README said the hosted Vectorless service was closing and the project was no longer developed. It is paused instead: the data is backed up and the infrastructure is kept as code, so it can come back, and the code stays open source. The status wording and badge now say that, and replies to issues are described as possibly slow rather than not coming at all.
