VR 180 Video with SBS 3D

Hi, sorry if it's something basic. But can you explain how to add VR180 metadata? Is it simply checking like this?

I'm a bit confused since the menus are just 360 & Top/Down 3D, while what I want are 180 & SBS 3D.

Hello! 180 degree video typically gets recorded in spherical or in top/bottom layouts and all this tool does in inject the metadata required for you to upload it to YouTube and have it render with the applicable playback controls. If your camera records in SBS you may need to find a way to convert it to one of the above methods first.

Can you provide a screenshot of what the RAW playback looks like from VLC of the source?

Ok same here, I have converted from 2d to 3d , it looks very good when looked through a quest for example but to be able to upload it I used the only available option the top one but that just makes a 360 degree video where there two different "videos" on either side of your head... How can I make it so it is recognized as a vr 180 video ?

@patientx Can you share your source video? This tool is only meant to inject spherical and spatial audio metadata and requires the source to be spherical and either Side by Side or Stereoscopic so if the source is not either one of those it will not work.

@jamiesonpepper I think there's two issues here.

• Side by Side AND Stereoscopic - ie. 3D VR180 is an increasingly popular YT format (e.g using Canon dual fish eye lens)
• There's no standard reference clip library for developers and creators to verify metadata (I'm not clear why there aren't clearer docs on each supported YT format with a reference clip - even Canon doesn't provide downloadable samples of their VR lens outputs - you'd think it would be in their interest!)

there's an old fork of your repro that addresses this issue. YT doesn't tag the file as 3D (only VR180) so you don't get Anaglyph option on flat screen but VT VR app does show stereo view
