Skill update checking and source review now live in a coherent library flow: a dedicated Updates view, one in-place review with supporting-file diffs, a review queue, and a phone layout with pinned consent and actions. Codex plugin hooks get contextual discovery and an exact-command review sheet with native revision checks and immediate feedback.

Builds on @0libote’s safe repository update and hook mechanisms in #52, using the supplied design handoff and the existing vanilla JS Kit architecture.

Changes

  • Add All / Needs attention / Updates views, per-skill checks, actionable update chips, a remembered View menu, bundled-skill controls, and source/plugin sections in the inspector.
  • Replace separate instruction comparison with unified file diffs, contextual folds, word marks, full installed/incoming views, a local-edit download, and a queue that skips stale items and advances after success.
  • Keep update consent, immutable result retries, expiry/conflict recovery, protected destinations and read-only installations. Interrupted saves never become a fresh operation accidentally.
  • Share one hook discovery read with the library. Show waiting hooks at the relevant plugin, review the full command in its card, serialize native writes with fresh revisions, and preserve per-card conflict feedback. Managed and unsupported hooks remain read-only.
  • Add bounded UTF-8 file previews (64 KiB per file / 1 MiB total) without changing fingerprints or publication, and retain ref/commit metadata through batched checks.
  • Extend seven-provider fixtures, reusable browser audits, screenshot scenarios and contributor/user documentation. Keep real provider marks and the existing design tokens/components.
  • Recognize Codex 0.164’s configured-key status while rejecting failed probes, and verify the image smoke test stages the complete browser audit dependency bundle.

Validation

  • 816 Node tests passed, including preview bounds, links, invalid UTF-8, budget exhaustion, source metadata and unchanged update safety.
  • 32 browser configurations passed: 12 library, 10 update and 10 hook configurations, across both themes, desktop/tablet, 390/360 px phones and embedded Setup. Affected layouts were rerun after visual fixes.
  • Browser coverage includes pending feedback, polling preservation, queue skip/next, keyboard file navigation and scrolling, local-edit consent/download, stale and failed reviews, immutable lost-result recovery, long paths, exact hook revisions, conflicts, managed/unsupported hooks and late discovery.
  • The supplied diff pair produces three hunks and +6 / −3; the 64 KiB benchmark cases meet the 50 ms median budget.
  • Native T3 preview click-through, paired handoff/implementation visual QA, all client syntax checks, the 29-check harness UI audit, generated mise checks and git diff --check pass.
