What changed
OpenAI subscription connections now show a short code and the OpenAI verification page in onboarding and Settings. Approval completes automatically, without a failed localhost redirect or a pasted URL. Anthropic keeps its code-paste flow.
The backend follows the device authorization protocol in the pinned Codex 0.158.0 CLI. Redis stores each attempt with its provider, Account, polling interval, and expiry. A lock prevents duplicate exchanges. Completed polls can be retried, and cancellation reports success if approval completed first. Tokens use the existing vault, refresh, and sandbox delivery paths. No database migration or new dependency is required.

Verification
uv run pytest backend/— 2,283 passed. After the final authentication changes, the four focused provider and identity test files passed all 65 tests.npm --prefix frontend test— 646 passed.
