CodeQL default setup does not analyze pull requests pushed by Dependabot (no dynamic CodeQL run is created for them), so the required Analyze (python) and Analyze (actions) checks never report and Dependabot PRs such as #204 and #205 stay blocked.

Changes

  • Add .github/workflows/codeql.yml running CodeQL on pull_request and push to master, plus a weekly schedule.
  • Job name Analyze (${{ matrix.language }}) keeps the check names the master ruleset requires.
  • Uploads use the same categories as default setup (/language:python, /language:actions), so existing alerts carry over.
  • Actions pinned by SHA; top-level permissions read-only, security-events: write only on the analyze job.

Default setup has been switched to not-configured so this workflow's uploads are accepted.

Follow-up

After merge, @dependabot rebase on #205 to confirm Dependabot PRs now receive the Analyze checks.

Default setup does not analyze pull requests pushed by Dependabot, so
the required Analyze (python) and Analyze (actions) checks never report
and Dependabot PRs stay blocked. Run CodeQL as a workflow on
pull_request instead, keeping the same check names and analysis
categories as default setup.
