feat(info): add Showcase pages for three shows - #1204
The Vergecast, Conspiracy Theories and Waveform: The MKBHD Podcast get Showcase pages: show pages drawn in each show's own style and marked with a "boxlore pick" tag in the top bar.
Episodes a feed tags as trailers but that run longer than 15 minutes now count as full episodes.
After subscribing, the feed check shows as a status line in the page body instead of a spinning pill in the top bar.
An open show description is saved with the page, so it stays open when the page is recreated.
Motivation
Highlight a few picks with pages that feel like the show, while the page keeps working exactly as every other show page does.
Some feeds tag full episodes as trailers (Conspiracy Theories tags two episodes of about 50 minutes). They were shown in trailer cards and skipped by Smart Queue.
Each pack has its own subscribe moment (BrandedSubscribeMoment): The Vergecast's sticker slap, Conspiracy Theories' typed and filed, and Waveform's logo intro. Each one draws over the Subscribe button, holds alerts and auto-download back until its reveal time, lands on the usual Subscribed state, and is skipped when system animations are off. A header can follow the same clock, and whether one of the show's episodes is playing, through LocalBrandedHeaderMotion (Waveform's logo bars).
Waveform's latest-episode card shows the episode's waveform as a band across the top, white up to the listening point and grey after, then the title and two lines of the episode's description. The band's bars breathe with the logo while the episode plays.
BrandedShowPage.darkOnly: Waveform's identity is dark only, so its page keeps its dark colours and white status bar icons in light mode, and hands the app's setting back when it leaves.
Artwork comes from each show's official cover, wordmark and brand images. Bundled fonts carry their licences under feature/info/licenses/ (Anton, Barlow and Courier Prime under SIL OFL 1.1; Special Elite under Apache 2.0).
core/model: Episode.isTrailer and Episode.effectiveEpisodeType treat a tagged trailer as one only when it is 15 minutes or shorter, or its length is unknown. They are used for list grouping, type labels, the trailer chip, the spotlight, the release-frequency chip and Smart Queue's candidate filters. CrossPromotionDetector keeps the feed's own tag as one of its signals.
PodcastInfoPostSubscribeLogic shows "Checking the feed for new episodes…" in the page body during the catalog refresh after subscribing, and clears it however the refresh ends. PostSubscribeRefreshes counts these refreshes per show: a second one started while the first runs keeps the line until the last ends, and pull-to-refresh waits rather than reading the same feed twice.
The spotlight's list item is keyed by its episode ID (brandedSpotlightKey), so Select visible includes it; the list below never repeats that episode.
PodcastInfoScreen saves the description's open state. Its title motion, notification-permission state and host sorting move to PodcastInfoScreenParts.kt, and EpisodeToolbar splits the Subscribe button, its colours and the moment's clock into smaller composables.
The feature/info README records the pages, their tests, the capture workflow and a manual acceptance path for Showcase pages; the core/model and core/playback READMEs record the trailer rule.
Behavior & compatibility
Only the three shows' pages change. Every other show page looks and behaves as before.
No storage, API or payload changes. episodeType keeps the feed's value; the trailer rule applies when it is read.
A tagged trailer with no known length still shows as a trailer.

What changes in the user’s life:
Opening The Vergecast, Conspiracy Theories or Waveform shows a page in the show's own style, with its latest episode up top and a short show-themed moment when you subscribe.
Full episodes that a show's feed labels as trailers appear as normal episodes and can play next in Smart Queue.
Backend — optional, pairable with any user-impact level
After subscribing, the catalog refresh shows as a status line in the page body instead of the top-bar pill (PodcastInfoPostSubscribeLogic).
The show description's open state is saved with the page.
Fixed
Episodes a feed tags as trailers but that run longer than 15 minutes count as full episodes (Episode.isTrailer, Episode.effectiveEpisodeType) in the episode list, type labels, spotlight, release-frequency chip and Smart Queue.
Pull-to-refresh no longer starts a second feed read while the refresh after subscribing runs, and that refresh's status line stays until the last one ends.
README What's New / Upcoming (required for user-impact changes)
Improvements
The Vergecast, Conspiracy Theories and Waveform now have show pages in their own style, marked as a boxlore pick, with the latest episode up top and a short moment when you subscribe.
Fixes
Full episodes that a show's feed labels as trailers now show as normal episodes and can play next in Smart Queue.
Test plan
Built and installed locally (./gradlew :app:installDebug) on a phone; all three pages and the trailer fix checked there
DarkOnlyPageStatusBarTest: white status bar icons on Waveform in light mode, restored when the page leaves
BrandedPagesPhoneGoldenTest (local only) compared against the design boards at 369 by 821dp in both themes and at 840dp wide; each subscribe moment captured every 16ms with no one-frame flashes, ending identical to the settled page
EpisodeTrailerTest, FeedGroupingLogicTest, BrandedSpotlightTest and SmartQueueEngineTest cover a 54-minute episode tagged as a trailer
Required checks are green before merge, or a maintainer explicitly authorized a check bypass for this PR
Manual acceptance
Open The Vergecast, Conspiracy Theories and Waveform. Each shows its own header, a "boxlore pick" tag in the top bar and its latest episode in a spotlight card that is not repeated in the list below.
Subscribe on each page: the show's moment plays once, then the button shows Subscribed with alerts and auto-download beside it. With animations turned off in system settings, it lands on Subscribed straight away.
Switch the system to light mode: The Vergecast and Conspiracy Theories switch to their light versions; Waveform stays dark with white status bar icons.
Play a Waveform episode: the logo's bars move while it plays and settle when paused.
Open Conspiracy Theories: "The Possessed Nuns of Loudun" shows as a normal episode, not a trailer.
Device checks covered the phone in portrait. Tablet, foldable and resized-window states are covered by the JVM transition test and the 840dp capture, not on a device.

Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Added custom show pages for Vergecast, Conspiracy Theories, and Waveform, featuring show-specific artwork, colors, headers, and animated subscribe moments.
Featured episode highlights show playback progress and provide controls for liking, downloading, queueing, and playing episodes.
After subscribing, a “Reading newest” status can appear while the feed refreshes.
Bug Fixes
Trailer labels and filtering now account for episode duration, so full-length episodes tagged as trailers are treated as regular episodes.
Adds three branded podcast pages with show-specific themes, headers, spotlights, and subscribe animations. Also adds duration-aware trailer classification and temporary post-subscribe feed-status handling.
Adds a 900-second trailer threshold and isTrailer and effectiveEpisodeType properties. Tests cover threshold boundaries, zero duration, and other episode types.
Trailer filtering and display core/playback/..., feature/info/...
Uses duration-aware trailer classification in playback suggestions, feed grouping, metadata selection, episode labels, and branded spotlights. Tests cover short trailers and long episodes tagged as trailers.

Explanation
The title follows the required Conventional Commits format, uses the allowed feat type and scope, uses imperative mood, stays under 72 characters, and accurately describes the main Showcase page changes.
Full details: Architecture Compliance
Explanation
PASS. ARCHITECTURE.md permits feature:info to depend on core:playback, core:catalog, core:designsystem, and core:model. The changed feature production imports stay within feature.info or those allowed core packages; no other feature package is imported. The changed core:playback files add only core:model.isTrailer. Searches of all changed production Kotlin files found no PostHog, Hilt, Koin, Dagger, or MockK usage. The diff changes no Gradle graph, AppContainer, PlaybackRepository construction, catalog module, or identity/storage contract.
Full details: Jvm Tests For Changed Logic
Explanation
The PR adds JVM tests under src/test for the changed logic. EpisodeTrailerTest covers short, boundary, over-length, unknown-duration, and other-type cases. SmartQueueEngineTest covers trailer exclusion and long mislabelled trailers. FeedGroupingLogicTest, BrandedSpotlightTest, and PodcastInfoMetadataChipsLogicTest cover feed, spotlight, and frequency behavior. PodcastInfoPostSubscribeLogicTest covers normal, empty/preserved-status, failure, cancellation, and page-change cases. Additional branded-page and helper tests cover the new pure and ViewModel-adjacent logic.
Full details: Description check
Explanation
The pull request description is directly related to the changes. It clearly describes the Showcase pages, trailer classification, post-subscription status line, saved description state, affected components, compatibility, and test plan.
Full details: Unresolved Review Threads
Explanation
Nine newly generated findings are outstanding. They are not marked resolved or explicitly dismissed. No posted CodeRabbit threads were returned, but the current findings are explicitly designated as outstanding for this check. The findings include five Major and four Minor severities.
Resolution
Address all nine findings and mark each resolved, or explicitly dismiss each with a short rationale before merge.
Full details: Docstring Coverage
Explanation
Docstring coverage is 60.81% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 74 functions across 50 files. (15 skipped: 8 unsupported, 7 over the file limit.)
Resolution
Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.
