fix(playback): keep each queued episode under its own show - #1203
Every queue entry now plays under its own show. An episode queued from another show could appear in the mini player and on its episode page under the show of the episode that played before it, and that name could be saved and come back after a restart.
Motivation
PlaybackQueueCoordinator.addToQueueNext and addToQueue put the episode into the in-memory queue as the screen passed it. An episode without show fields (for example DownloadedEpisodeEntity.toEpisode, or a list item whose feed fields are missing) joined the queue with no show, and Room saved it with a blank show ID.
PlaybackMediaControllerBridge.onMediaItemTransition used the previous currentPodcast whenever the new entry's podcastId was null, and its fallback show copied host, artwork and genre from the previous show even when the IDs differed.
Once currentPodcast held the previous show, paths that restart playback with the player's current show (playFromQueueIndex from the queue sheet, the emptied-player reload) recorded the session under it through ensureCurrentHistoryRow, and session restore reads that history row first.
Smart Queue refill items carried no show ID, so an entry the UI rebuilt from the player (buildEpisodeFromMediaItem, or the transition's recovery when no entry exists) had none either. Rebuilt entries took the show title from the subtitle or the artist: Android Auto subtitles include the duration, and Smart Queue artists are the host.
What changed
New QueueShowPolicy:
withShow fills an entry's missing show ID, title, host, genre and artwork from the show it was queued from. An episode that names another show (another ID, or another title without an ID) is returned unchanged, so two shows' fields never mix.
currentShow picks the show when an item becomes current: Room's copy of the episode's show, else the previous show only when it has that ID (or that title, for an entry without an ID), else the episode's own fields. An entry with no show at all plays under "Unknown Podcast", never another show's name.
showTitle reads a media item's album title, then subtitle, then artist. extras / showId carry the show ID in the boxlore_podcast_id media item extra.
PlaybackQueueCoordinator: addToQueue, addToQueueNext and addEpisodesAfterCurrent tag entries with withShow; buildEpisodeFromMediaItem reads the show ID and title from the item.
playQueue gives a new queue's episodes without a show of their own the show it was started from (withShow), so the saved queue keeps it across a restart; episodes of another show keep theirs. The new replayQueue reloads the current queue without relabelling anything (playFromQueueIndex, and the reload PlaybackTransportHelper runs on an emptied player).
PlaybackMediaControllerBridge: resolves the show through currentShow, writes it back into the current entry so the saved queue keeps it, and leaves the state to a newer transition when the player moved to another item while the show lookups ran. The Room show lookup is injectable (findStoredPodcast; default unchanged). The recovery path for an item with no entry reads the show ID extra and showTitle.
refillMediaItem puts the pick's show ID in the boxlore_podcast_id extra.
QueueShowPolicy.startShow: a queue whose first episode names another show than the one it was started with (Downloads "Play all" under All Downloads, a Home mix) starts under that episode's show, so ensureCurrentHistoryRow never saves the placeholder's name. The "unknown" show ID an episode page uses for a show it doesn't know counts as no show, and withShow copies nothing from a show without a real ID.
DownloadedEpisodeEntity.toEpisode (:feature:library) carries the download's show ID and name.
CastQueueSnapshotPolicy and RemovedQueueItem moved unchanged to their own files (same package), keeping PlaybackQueueCoordinator.kt under the 1000-line source limit.
core/playback/README.md and feature/library/README.md updated.
Behavior & compatibility
Before: after an episode from another show became current, the player could show the previous show's name, and Smart Queue or Android Auto items rebuilt from the player could show the host or a name with the episode length. After: each entry shows its own show.
An entry with no show at all still plays under a show from the same queue, as before; it now takes the show the queue was started from rather than whichever episode played last.
No schema, sync payload, media ID, cache key or service identity change. Queue rows now carry the show ID and title they previously left blank, so queue sync sends them. Cast drops media item extras; Cast-only entries keep relying on Room rows and the existing lookups.
Out of scope: history rows already saved with another show's name keep it; session restore reads the history row's show before the queue's, and repairing those rows has to respect the owner-row rule for shows switched to their RSS feeds.

What changes in the user's life:
An episode you add to your queue from another show shows its own show in the mini player and on its episode page when it starts, not the show you were listening to before. It keeps that show after a restart.
Playing a show's episodes and slotting in an episode from another show no longer changes the name of the episodes that follow it.
Smart Queue picks and Android Auto episodes show their show's name, not the host's name or the episode length.
Downloaded episodes played or queued from Downloads, including "Play all", show their own show instead of "All Downloads" or the show playing before them, and listening history saves them under that show.

Fixed
Queue entries keep their own show: addToQueue, addToQueueNext and same-show continuation fill a missing show from the show the episode was queued from (QueueShowPolicy.withShow), and PlaybackMediaControllerBridge no longer reuses the previous show for an entry of another show. A new queue gives its show-less episodes the show it was started from, and an entry with no show at all plays under "Unknown Podcast" instead of the previous episode's show.
Smart Queue refill items carry their show ID (boxlore_podcast_id media item extra), and entries rebuilt from a media item take the show title from the album title, then subtitle, then artist, so Android Auto durations and Smart Queue hosts are no longer read as show names.
A media item transition that the player moved past during its show lookup no longer overwrites the newer transition's state.
Downloaded episodes keep their show (DownloadedEpisodeEntity.toEpisode), and a queue started under a placeholder show (All Downloads, Home mixes) starts under its first episode's own show (QueueShowPolicy.startShow), so the first session saved for it never takes the placeholder's name.

Fixes
Episodes you add to your queue from another show, or play from Downloads, now appear under the right show in the player, including after you restart boxlore.
./gradlew :core:playback:ktlintCheck :feature:library:ktlintCheck: the changed files pass; two existing findings in untouched files (AutoPlaybackResumptionHandler.kt, ListeningSessionDetailsTest.kt)
Android lint: no findings on changed lines locally; the PR's Lint Debug check passed
New JVM coverage. QueueEntryShowTest drives the real PlaybackQueueCoordinator and PlaybackMediaControllerBridge (Robolectric, in-memory Room): Play next and Add to queue from another show, a show-less list with another show's episode in between (also after a restart and a reload from the queue), an episode with no show at all queued from a page that couldn't place it, a Smart Queue pick rebuilt from its media item and one with no entry at all, an Android Auto item rebuilt from the player, a transition the player moved past during its lookup, a mixed Downloads list started under its placeholder (including the saved session's show), and the session restored after a restart with and without a history row. Each case shows the previous show's name, the placeholder, the host or the decorated subtitle without the fix. QueueShowPolicyTest covers the policy rules, including the "unknown" placeholder and the start show; PlaybackQueueCoordinatorTest covers a new queue tagging show-less episodes and a reload relabelling nothing; CastPlaybackPolicyTest covers CastQueueSnapshotPolicy resets and candidate changes; DownloadModelsTest covers downloads keeping their show.
Adaptive states (source inspection): no layout, window or saved-state code changed. PlayerState is held by the single app-scoped PlaybackRepository, so phone, tablet, foldable and resized windows read the same show, and window changes do not reset it.
Built / installed locally (./gradlew installDebug): not run; no device check yet
Manual check: from a show page, add an episode of another show while one plays, skip to it, confirm the mini player and episode page show its own show, then restart the app

Bug Fixes
Queue entries now retain the correct podcast when adding episodes from other shows, playing next, or refilling the queue.
Episodes without their own show details continue to appear under the queue’s original podcast.
Podcast information now remains consistent when playback advances, resumes, or restores a saved queue.
Downloaded episodes now retain their podcast details when played or added to a queue.
Playback no longer applies outdated podcast information after the current episode changes.
Playback now preserves show metadata on queued episodes and tracks a queue-level show context. It resolves show data when media items are rebuilt or playback transitions, and clears the queue context during session handoff and restoration. A separate policy evaluates shorter remote queue snapshots.

The bridge resolves show data from episode metadata, stored podcasts, and queue context. It updates the transitioned episode and saved queue, and ignores a transition when the controller has moved to another item. Tests and README notes cover transitions, rebuilt media items, and restoration.
CastQueueSnapshotPolicy accepts a shorter, nonempty remote ID subset candidate. It accepts a repeated candidate only while less than 1,000 ms have elapsed since first observation; otherwise it clears the candidate.

After restarting the app, a queued episode without its own show details can still play under the wrong show when a different show's episode was inserted via Play next. Fix this before merging, since it is the same bug this change aims to remove. The remaining issue is a small test-coverage gap.

Full details: Architecture Compliance
Explanation
No architecture violation is introduced. The PR changes only :core:playback and :feature:library; added production imports do not reference another feature, PostHog, Hilt, Koin, Dagger, or MockK. No Gradle dependency changes were made. The diff adds no PlaybackRepository or AppContainer construction. The Room lookup was moved from existing inline playback code into an injectable default lambda, so it does not create a second object graph. Media IDs and custom cache keys remain unchanged, and no Room migration, preference file, or storage identity contract is changed. The new boxlore_podcast_id value is additive Media3 metadata.

All production Kotlin changes are under core/playback/src/main/ or feature/library/src/main/. The PR modifies both matching module READMEs: core/playback/README.md and feature/library/README.md. No app/src/main/ production Kotlin changes are present.
Full details: Jvm Tests For Changed Logic
Explanation
The PR adds hermetic JVM tests under src/test for the changed playback logic. QueueShowPolicyTest covers show selection, missing or blank metadata, unknown placeholders, field filling, and queue-start behavior. QueueEntryShowTest covers queue additions, refills, Android Auto reconstruction, mixed downloads, transition races, saved-queue restoration, and restart restoration. PlaybackQueueCoordinatorTest, PlaybackSessionRestoreHelperTest, and DownloadModelsTest cover queue-show retention, restore clearing, and downloaded-episode mapping. The moved CastQueueSnapshotPolicy already has JVM coverage in CastPlaybackPolicyTest. These tests include the practical regression coverage for the reported wrong-show bug.

On master, the transition takes the current episode from the queue entry (PlaybackMediaControllerBridge.kt:363):
With a show ID, the entry looks up that show in Room. A blank ID ends up as "Unknown Podcast".
With no show ID (podcastId == null), the entry keeps oldState.currentPodcast. This is the only way the previous show's name appears.
addToQueue, addToQueueNext and addEpisodesAfterCurrent store the episode exactly as passed. They never fill the show from the podcast argument (PlaybackQueueCoordinator.kt:446). So any caller that hands over an episode without podcastId reproduces the bug on auto-advance or skip.
Not the cause: the feed-first and v2 show-page sources
All three Room-row mappers copy the non-null podcastId column:
LocalEpisodeEntity.kt:83
RssEpisodeEntity.kt:65
EpisodeSupplementItemEntity.kt:62
ShowFeedLogic.withShow fills a missing ID on the feed-first page (ShowFeedLogic.kt:85). It skips episodes that already have both a show title and artwork. With the sources above that's harmless, but episode.podcastId == null would be a safer condition.
/v2/episodes items map podcastId from feedId (PodcastRepositoryMappers.kt:126), which the Worker sets on every item.
Episodes that do reach the queue without a show
Downloads.DownloadedEpisodeEntity.toEpisode() sets neither podcastId nor podcastTitle nor podcastImageUrl (feature/library/.../downloads/DownloadModels.kt:36), although the row has podcastId and podcastName. Every Downloads action uses it:
Play, Play next and Add to queue on a show's downloads (DownloadedShowEpisodesScreen.kt:587–640);
Play all in the Downloads list (DownloadedEpisodesListScreen.kt:373–382).
An auto-downloaded latest episode queued from Downloads while another show plays gives exactly the reported state: that episode under the previous show's name.
Episode page "Play next."EpisodeInfoViewModel.kt:680 queues currentState.episode as loaded. Episodes opened from history or a download carry no podcastId. The page already fills it for sharing (EpisodeLoadRequests.shareEpisode, EpisodeLoadRequests.kt:56–58) but not for Play next.
What this PR covers, and what it doesn't
Covered. Downloads' Play next and Add to queue, and the episode page, pass the right show as podcast. QueueShowPolicy's fill from the queued-from show fixes them.
Not covered: Downloads "Play all". It plays a mixed-show list under one placeholder Podcast. With queueShow, every episode without a show would play under that placeholder rather than its own show. Fix it at the source: DownloadedEpisodeEntity.toEpisode() should set podcastId, podcastTitle and podcastImageUrl from the row, as toPodcast() and core/downloads/CompletedDownloadItem.kt already do. That also makes queueShow a fallback rather than the fix.
Edge case. The episode page can pass podcastId = "unknown" (EpisodeInfoViewModel.kt:304). QueueShowPolicy should treat "unknown" like a blank, so it doesn't fill an entry with a non-show.
Suggested additions to this PR:
downloads keep their show in toEpisode();
the episode page fills the show before Play next;
treat "unknown" as no show;
a regression test for a mixed downloads queue.
A latent wrong-show route to keep in mind
RoomDiscoveryEpisodeIds.owner() takes an episode's show from its listening-history row first. If a history row ever stored the wrong show, every /v2 answer containing that episode would be relabelled to that show:
the show page's server list;
discovery rails;
search.
(See DiscoveryEpisodeIds.withDiscoveryOwner.) With the fix above, nothing should write such a row. It's worth a test that a history row under another show doesn't override a /v2 answer whose recipe ID resolves through a trusted alias of the answer's own show.
No repair build needed
The bug lives in player state, not stored data. The mini player, now-playing and the episode page during playback reset as soon as another episode becomes current, and this change keeps them right from the start.
History rows normally get the right show. The playback service writes the history row from the media item, and that item carries the correct show: addToQueue builds its metadata from the podcast argument, which Downloads and the episode page pass correctly. Only narrow cases could store the wrong show: the UI's first-save path if it wins the race, a like tapped during the wrong display, or completion on hand-over.
The reported case stored nothing wrong. On the affected device the synced history for that episode is under its own show (The Vergecast). No row names the other show, and the episode's alias is trusted under its own show.
If a few rows do exist, they are synced rows on the server. A one-off read-only count on the sync database, comparing each history row's show with the show its episode belongs to, would find them, and a server-side fix there would reach every device on the next sync. An in-app repair isn't warranted unless that count is non-trivial.
previous is by definition the show that was playing before this entry, so this is the original symptom whenever such an entry reaches the player. One source can still produce it.
Episode page "Play next" (EpisodeInfoViewModel.kt:680) queues currentState.episode as loaded. It passes a Podcast built from currentState.podcastId, which is "unknown" when the page couldn't resolve its show (EpisodeInfoViewModel.kt:304). An episode opened from history or a link without a show then reaches the queue with neither ID nor title:
withShow returns it unchanged, because podcast.id.knownId() is null.
On transition, currentShow returns queueShow ?: previous.
queueShow is only right for entries from the list playQueue started. For an entry added with addToQueue or addToQueueNext, it's another queue's show.
Suggestions:
In currentShow, when the entry has no ID and no title, return queueShow only for entries that came from the started list. Otherwise use an "Unknown Podcast" show built from the episode's own fields, never previous. "Unknown Podcast" is a better failure than another show's name.
In EpisodeInfoViewModel's Play next, fill the episode's show the way EpisodeLoadRequests.shareEpisode already does (EpisodeLoadRequests.kt:56–58), so a page that knows its show always passes it on.
Add a test: a queue started from show A, then addToQueueNext of an episode with no ID and no title. On transition it must not show A.
This is rare after this PR's fixes, so it's fine as a follow-up if you'd rather not hold the merge.

Summary
Motivation
PlaybackQueueCoordinator.addToQueueNextandaddToQueueput the episode into the in-memory queue as the screen passed it. An episode without show fields (for exampleDownloadedEpisodeEntity.toEpisode, or a list item whose feed fields are missing) joined the queue with no show, and Room saved it with a blank show ID.PlaybackMediaControllerBridge.onMediaItemTransitionused the previouscurrentPodcastwhenever the new entry'spodcastIdwas null, and its fallback show copied host, artwork and genre from the previous show even when the IDs differed.currentPodcastheld the previous show, paths that restart playback with the player's current show (playFromQueueIndexfrom the queue sheet, the emptied-player reload) recorded the session under it throughensureCurrentHistoryRow, and session restore reads that history row first.buildEpisodeFromMediaItem, or the transition's recovery when no entry exists) had none either. An episode that names another show (another ID, or another title without an ID) is returned unchanged, so two shows' fields never mix.currentShowpicks the show when an item becomes current: Room's copy of the episode's show, else the previous show only when it has that ID (or that title, for an entry without an ID), else the episode's own fields. addToQueue,addToQueueNextand same-show continuation fill a missing show from the show the episode was queued from (QueueShowPolicy.withShow), andPlaybackMediaControllerBridgeno longer reuses the previous show for an entry of another show. A new queue gives its show-less episodes the show it was started from, and an entry with no show at all plays under "Unknown Podcast" instead of the previous episode's show.boxlore_podcast_idmedia item extra), and entries rebuilt from a media item take the show title from the album title, then subtitle, then artist, so Android Auto durations and Smart Queue hosts are no longer read as show names.DownloadedEpisodeEntity.toEpisode), and a queue started under a placeholder show (All Downloads, Home mixes) starts under its first episode's own show (QueueShowPolicy.startShow), so the first session saved for it never takes the placeholder's name.README What's New / Upcoming (required for user-impact changes)
