Calamares removes the programs unchecked on the minimal page with pacman -Rs, which refuses to take away a package that something still installed requires - and a refusal fails the whole installation with "Package Manager error". Unchecking LibreOffice did exactly that: its language packs stay installed and depend on it. steam (decklike) and system-config-printer (system-config-printer-jobs) have the same shape. Before packages.conf is written, the list is now closed over the installed packages that depend on it, read from pacman -Qi's Required By under LC_ALL=C since the label is translated. The effect is that of pacman -Rsc, and the extra packages are logged.
