Complete browser, accessibility, route, and signup checks #26
Description
The final QA pass and fixes are complete in PR #35; merged and deployed. The maintainer explicitly deferred the live signup test. Updated September 10, 2026.
- Validate 106 exported pages, legacy aliases, internal links/assets/downloads, anchors, headings, metadata, favicon, and exclusion of draft directories.
- Check nine routes at five viewport sizes, including narrow/zoom-equivalent reflow; no horizontal page overflow or browser page errors.
- Run WCAG A/AA automated checks with zero violations and manually assess contrast cases the scanner could not resolve.
- Fix and verify short-desktop sidebar scrolling and keyboard skip-link focus.
- Verify phone filter disclosure, combined filters, empty state, keyboard reset, all 22 profile paper counts, and empty-page redirects.
- Retain export regressions for focusable skip-link targets and legacy redirects; exercise populated future sections in fixture builds.
- Record the maintainer’s decision to defer IdioFid endpoint ownership and the controlled signup test. No signup was submitted; successful delivery is not claimed.
Native browser zoom, other engines, screen-reader operation, and physical-device testing were not performed in this pass. Earlier production route and unchanged hero pause/reduced-motion checks remain documented.
Deployment verified: run 34545126097, commit 542656f. The live homepage, all nine current members, representative routes/downloads, redirects, and desktop/phone rendering passed.

Production QA update — September 9, 2026\n\nVerified the live site at 375x812 and 1440x900 with no horizontal overflow. The skip link is first in keyboard focus order; publication search, empty results, reset, labels, and the visible preprint status work. Structural checks found one h1 per page, English document language, no missing image alt attributes, no duplicate IDs, and no unlabeled form fields across the home, team, publications, and IdioFid pages. Legacy routes and representative assets also passed.\n\nThe audit found a missing homepage canonical, contextually incorrect h1-to-h3 jumps on the team/publications indexes, and an oversized logo used as the browser icon. PR #32 fixes these and adds export regressions for heading order and the favicon. Full checks and a mobile production-style preview pass.\n\nRemaining: one controlled live IdioFid submission after endpoint ownership/test-address authorization, plus any broader contrast/zoom/device matrix the lab wants beyond this launch smoke test.
