AI Research Engineer | Trustworthy AI Evaluation | Model Selection for Language-Based Decisions | Responsible AI
My in-progress doctoral research at Clarkson University, advised by Dr. Jeanna Matthews, asks when a text classifier is adequate for a specific decision rather than simply best on a benchmark. I am developing a consequence-driven framework that converts what errors cost the people who act on a model's output into operating requirements such as recall floors, false-positive limits and calibration, then qualifies and selects candidate models against them with explicit uncertainty bounds. The framework and study protocol are in progress; no evaluation results are claimed yet.
I also build research software for multi-agent systems, AI evaluation, and computer vision. I am a PhD candidate in Computer Science at Clarkson University and an independent AI research engineer at Kymera Systems LLC, based in San Antonio, Texas.

- Question: deciding when a language classifier is adequate for a specific decision: turning the consequences of errors into measurable requirements, then selecting and qualifying models against them with explicit uncertainty.
- Planned methods: probability calibration, selective prediction and deferral, interval estimation (Wilson bounds, bootstrap), and non-inferiority and equivalence testing.
- Worked case: detecting subjectively biased wording in Wikipedia sentences to support human editors, using the WIKIBIAS benchmark.
- Status: a proposed doctoral research direction. The framework and study protocol are in progress; no results or publications from it exist yet.
