## Vercel Web Analytics Installation
Successfully installed and configured Vercel Web Analytics for the Matrix Digital Rain project.
### Changes Made
**1. Package Installation**
- Installed `@vercel/analytics` version 1.4.1
- Added dependency to `package.json`
- Updated `package-lock.json` with new dependency tree
**2. Analytics Integration (js/main.js)**
- Added import statement: `import { inject } from "@vercel/analytics";`
- Injected analytics tracking in the main initialization sequence, right after version display
- Placed after `displayVersionInfo()` to ensure analytics starts early in the app lifecycle
- Added documentation comment explaining the analytics initialization
### Implementation Details
This project is a vanilla JavaScript application (not a framework like Next.js or React), so I followed the Vercel Analytics vanilla JavaScript setup:
1. **Import Method**: Used the `inject()` function from `@vercel/analytics`
2. **Placement**: Added to `js/main.js` in the `document.body.onload` async handler
3. **Timing**: Called early in initialization, after version info display but before configuration parsing
The analytics will automatically track page views and visitor data when the application is deployed to Vercel.
### Files Modified
- `js/main.js` - Added import and inject() call
- `package.json` - Added @vercel/analytics to dependencies
- `package-lock.json` - Updated with new dependency information
### Verification
- JavaScript syntax validated successfully with Node.js
- No build errors introduced
- Existing code structure preserved
- All changes follow the project's existing patterns and conventions
### Notes
- Analytics will only send data when deployed to production (not in local development)
- The `inject()` function is framework-agnostic and perfect for vanilla JavaScript projects
- No additional configuration is required; analytics work out-of-the-box once deployed to Vercel
