Installation

Requires an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later) running macOS Tahoe (26) or later. Intel Macs are not supported.

Homebrew

brew install --cask aderamdani/tap/netutil

Manual (DMG)

  1. Visit Releases.
  2. Download the latest NetUtil-X.X.X.dmg.
  3. Open the DMG and drag NetUtil to Applications.

First launch: NetUtil is ad-hoc signed (not yet notarized), so macOS Gatekeeper blocks the first open. Right-click NetUtil in Applications and choose Open, or run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/NetUtil.app.

Command-line tool

A small companion CLI that wraps the same system tools the app uses (ping, traceroute, dig, whois, networkQuality).

bash scripts/build_cli.sh # builds CLI/.build/release/netutil
netutil ping 1.1.1.1 10
netutil traceroute apple.com 20
netutil dns apple.com MX
netutil whois apple.com
netutil speed

It is a standalone SwiftPM package under CLI/; unifying it with the app in a shared NetUtilCore framework is planned for v5.0.0.
