Original catalog prose, original research presentation, selection and arrangement, and original site code are reserved to their respective creators except where an explicit license applies. Dates, filenames, version numbers, hashes and other factual metadata are presented as documented facts; the credit is not a claim of exclusive ownership over those facts.

Game software, assets, artwork, logos, names, trademarks, publisher notices and community works retain their respective owners' rights. An author or screenshot contributor may hold rights distinct from the company hosting the source. A company link is not an assertion that the company owns every item in the catalog.

The catalog reproduces selected visual material and describes preserved software to support identification, comparison, historical documentation and research. Source attribution identifies where material was obtained and, when known, its author, date and context. An educational purpose, historical age, discontinued service or public download does not by itself place material in the public domain or establish permission for every further use.

Official publisher pages, player work hosted on official websites and independent community sources are different kinds of material. Hosting on an official website does not automatically make a player contribution a publisher-authored work. Source files and provenance notes should be consulted before reusing an image, quotation or extracted asset.

Preserved software and hosted packages

The Downloads and Hashes sections document historical clients, patches, installation packages and selected preservation repacks. Copyright, publisher licenses and any applicable end-user terms remain attached to the underlying software. Preserving or linking a file does not make the maintainer its copyright owner and does not grant a license to modify, run, distribute or commercially exploit it.

Original refers to the catalog's specified source packaging; Repack refers to a separately described package assembled from preserved files. Neither is an official certification or a new grant of rights. A package may include multiple items with different owners or license terms. Read notices included with the package and the catalog's file-specific notes before deciding what you may do with it.

Hashes establish the identity of the object hashed. They do not demonstrate permission to publish or use it, and they do not certify that it is safe to execute. Availability of a link is not evidence that a publisher currently supports the client.

Reusing catalog writing, code and images

Linking to a catalog record and citing its factual findings with the relevant underlying sources supports verifiable research. When quoting or reproducing expressive content, determine whether the use is covered by permission, an explicit license or an applicable legal exception. Give credit to the actual author and preserve any required notices; attribution alone does not substitute for permission.

No blanket Creative Commons, MIT or other open-content/software license is granted to this catalog by this page. Files bearing their own license follow that license for the material it covers. Third-party material is excluded from any permission that a catalog contributor might grant for their own work.

For proposed reuse of original catalog content beyond what applicable law or an existing license allows, ask through DAKnow repository issues, describing the material and intended use. The maintainer can address only rights they hold. A reply concerning original catalog writing cannot authorize reuse of a game's assets or another author's work.

Public repository and separate licenses

The website source is visible in the DAKnow repository. Public visibility is not a general open-source license. GitHub explains the distinction between public access and licensing in its repository licensing guidance. Any rights provided by the GitHub Terms of Service for viewing and forking repositories remain separate from permission to reuse third-party material.

If a component includes a license, copyright notice or attribution requirement, retain it when using that component as its license requires. Check the particular file and its origin instead of assuming one license covers the entire repository, its images and its downloadable game packages.

The complete license is included in assets/fonts/OFL.txt.
Image and source attribution

Logo provenance is recorded in assets/logos/sources.json, and title-gallery image provenance is recorded in assets/images/sources.json, with region flag sources in assets/flags/sources.json. These records identify source URLs, known contributor information, captured files and conversion details where available. They are provenance records, not licenses.

The catalog's Sources and Research sections identify the evidence behind version claims. Retain the relevant author, work, date and source link when discussing a finding. Avoid presenting a community interpretation, archive capture date or packaging observation as an unqualified publisher statement.

Conversions such as WebP-to-PNG or lossless extraction do not transfer copyright or erase the source work's attribution. A catalog-generated filename is a local identifier, not evidence of authorship.

To request a credit correction or review of material, use DAKnow repository issues. Identify the exact page, image or downloadable filename, the relevant work and source, your relationship to the rights holder, and the correction or action requested. Include enough context to distinguish the item from similar regional versions. Do not publish unnecessary private information or copyrighted material in the report.

For a formal copyright complaint concerning content hosted by GitHub, follow GitHub's DMCA Takedown Policy. GitHub has its own process and can publish redacted notices; review its instructions before submitting. Trademark and sensitive-data concerns use GitHub's separate applicable reporting routes. An ordinary catalog issue does not replace a formal notice to the hosting provider.

Reports can lead to corrected attribution, revised descriptions, removal of displayed material or changed links as appropriate to the evidence and applicable requirements. No fixed review deadline or particular outcome is promised. Copies in external archives, forks or third-party mirrors remain under those services' control.
