Platform puts live UK train departures in your Mac’s menu bar.
Open it whenever you need it, choose your station and immediately see the next trains, departure times, platforms, delays and cancellations. There is no full application window to keep open and no account to create.
Download the latest version of Platform for macOS. Platform requires macOS 14 or later.
- Download and unzip the latest release.
- Move
Platform.appinto your Applications folder. - Control-click Platform and select Open the first time you launch it.
Platform is currently unsigned, so macOS will ask you to confirm that you want to open it. The installation guide includes step-by-step help.
Platform lives in the menu bar and stays out of the way until you need it. You can:
- Search for and save your favourite stations.
- Switch between stations without leaving the departure board.
- See scheduled and expected departure times.
- Check platforms, delays, cancellations and disruption information.
- Open a service to see its calling points and live progress.
- Refresh the board manually whenever you want.
- Continue viewing the latest available board if your connection is interrupted.
Platform only refreshes while its board is open.
Platform can check for new releases and install updates from this GitHub repository. Updates are cryptographically signed so the app can verify that they are genuine before installing them.
Because the current release is an unsigned beta, it is intended for people who are comfortable installing software directly from GitHub.
If something is not working correctly, report a problem.
Ideas and feature suggestions are welcome too. Before opening a new request, please check the existing issues to see whether it has already been discussed.
