… calls can be hosted UserSim is now published as `usersim`, so the git pin on `nemo-usersim` goes, and with it hatch's allow-direct-references. On 0.2.0rc1 every test and golden passes unchanged; the one change is that UserSim's hosted runtime now records a tool call from the simulated user, so a patient committing its move as a tool call can be hosted: the strict xfail in test_hosted.py passes, and the README stops saying the host's patient must answer with JSON content. NeMo UserSim is now published on PyPI as
usersim, so this movesnemo/usersimoff the git pin.Changes
pyproject.toml:nemo-usersim @ git+…@2945592→usersim>=0.2.0rc1;allow-direct-referencesis nolonger needed.
uv.lock:usersim0.2.0rc1 replacesnemo-usersim0.1.0, which brings Data Designer0.9.3 → 0.9.5 (and
fsspec2025.12.0 → 2026.9.0); nothing else moves.tests/test_hosted.py: the strict xfail ontest_a_patient_committing_by_tool_call_can_be_hostedisgone. UserSim's hosted runtime now records a tool call from the simulated user, so a patient that commits
its move as a tool call can be hosted (and the test passes, which a strict xfail turns into a failure).
README.md: installation says UserSim comes from PyPI, and the runtime section no longer says a hostedpatient must answer the move as JSON content.
mastermerged in (onlyassets/paper.pdfchanged).Nothing else changes: the probe, the session runtime and the litellm facade are as they were. Every
golden passes unchanged, so the requests the runtime sends are the same as on
2945592.Checked (the CI steps, locally):
uv sync --locked,ruff check .,pytest: 101 passed (was 100 +1 xfail), and the banned-word check.
Next (separate PR): run sessions through UserSim's own model layer and runner when every model is
OpenAI-compatible (Nemotron, open-weight counsellors, a vLLM patient), keeping the litellm path for GPT-5.6,
Claude and Gemini until Data Designer covers them (NVIDIA-NeMo/DataDesigner#1033).
