My route here wasn't a straight line. I started as a scientific data analyst (MSc, computer-aided drug design) who programmed as a hobby, and that hobby kept growing until it became my career in software engineering.
I came up through reverse engineering and C++, and I bring that careful, low-level approach to backend and systems development on IBM i Power. That background pays off most in automation. I work with agentic AI workflows, where AI agents do the hands-on work themselves, and I build the MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers that connect those agents to the system. With them an agent can read, search, edit and compile source members directly on the box, and drive 5250 green screens to test interactive RPG programs. The aim is to take the slow, manual steps out of IBM i Power development, so the time goes into the actual problem.
