Seamlessly search Hindi transcripts on YouTube using natural Hinglish (Roman English) phonetics—no Google Translate switching or virtual keyboards required.
On macOS with a standard QWERTY keyboard, searching within YouTube's Hindi transcripts is a chore. Typing phonetic Roman terms like paani, sarkar, or kisan returns zero matches because YouTube only filters against exact Devanagari script (पानी, सरकार, किसान).
Having to constantly switch tabs to Google Translate, copy Devanagari text, and paste it back into YouTube broke my study and research flow. This lightweight Manifest V3 extension fixes that right inside the native YouTube UI.
- Instant In-Place Transliteration: Type phonetically in Roman letters inside YouTube's transcript search bar; hitting
Spaceconverts the word into Hindi script on the fly. - Smart Escape Hatch: Need to keep the raw English word? Hit
Shift + Spaceto bypass conversion. - Interactive Neo-Toon Popup UI:
- "Chhota Bhasha" Mascot: Interactive SVG robot with reactive expressions (😊 Active vs. 😴 Snoozing).
- Chunky 3D Toggle: Tactile switch synchronizing toolbar badges and active states.
- Built-in Live Playground: Test out transliterations directly inside the popup with quick-test sample chips.
- Active Tab Status: Live indicator displaying YouTube connection status.
