A suitable calibration method for the outer field of view polarization calibration is still missing.
The challenges are:
- eta and the transmission ratio in the cross channel are potential unknows
- available methods do not adapted for the GHK formalism
- a truly automated algorithm is not available
Current status:
- the highres data is too noisy for a cross-calibration -> aggregated profiles have to be used:
signal_ratio = mean(sig_cross)/mean(sig_total)
