PicoCore is a lightweight MicroPython runtime and API designed for embedded systems. It provides a modular and efficient foundation for developing reliable applications on microcontrollers, including the Raspberry Pi Pico, Pico W, and ESP32.
PicoCore simplifies embedded development by combining a structured runtime with a clean, extensible API. It is optimized for low-power environments and supports scalable projects, from simple sensors to complex automation systems.
- Modular MicroPython runtime
- Unified API for sensors, logging, decision logic, and networking
- Configuration via
config.toml - Low-power optimization
- Supports Raspberry Pi Pico, Pico W (Pico 2 series planned), and ESP32
Comprehensive documentation is available online: PicoCore Documentation
Includes:
- Getting Started: Setup, flashing, first program
- Configuration Reference:
config.tomlguide - API Reference: Detailed functions and modules
- Architecture: Core concepts and system design
Note: The documentation is a work in progress. While every effort is made to keep it accurate, some sections may be incomplete or outdated. Maintaining code, tests, and online documentation simultaneously is a significant effort—thank you for your understanding and contributions!
Follow the setup guide to install PicoCore and run your first application: Quick Start Guide
Precompiled firmware (.uf2/.bin), compiled modules (.mpy), and source code are available for supported boards (Raspberry Pi Pico, Pico W, ESP32).
Each release may include different file structures, but similar organization is maintained when possible: PicoCore Releases
