Adds WebHID configuration for the AJAZZ AJ200 / AJ200P AI family, which uses a separate protocol from the existing AJAZZ NJ07/NJ08 and GearHub drivers. The driver handles VID 0x363c, usage 0xffa0:0x02, across 22 wired and receiver PIDs in the MC, PRO+, ULTRA, ULTRA+, MASTER and S ULTRA variants. The complete model/PID table and wire layouts are in docs/ajazz-aj200p.md.

  • Five firmware-managed onboard banks and button, keyboard, numpad, consumer/system, DPI and profile/rate assignments. The vendor's reserved seventh wire entry is preserved without exposing an extra physical AI button.
  • Eight DPI slots with independent X/Y axes, per-slot RGB and enabled count; both legacy six-byte/50-DPI and PAW3955 eight-byte/20-bit encodings.
  • DPI-indicator theme lighting, model/connection-specific polling, LOD, 0–20 ms debounce, Motion Sync, angle snapping and sensor performance/power-saving mode.
  • A sleep setter that writes normal and deep sleep together, with deep sleep set to normal sleep plus 60 seconds; a declarative UI note explains that behavior.
  • Serialized read/modify/write transactions, acknowledgement-before-read-back ordering, whole-block verification, unknown-field retention and stale-bank protection.

Packet layouts and model capabilities were derived from AJAZZ configurator 2.2.5 and sanitized configuration observations. Profile/rate actions are also supported by static analysis of the MASTER 3.3.13 action dispatcher. They are exposed with an experimental status note on other models/firmware; fixed-rate choices respect each model's advertised limits. Unknown ripple, BLE and flywheel settings, existing shortcut/macro entries and reserved bytes are retained. AI service features, receiver lighting, pairing, reset and firmware update are outside this PR.

The MASTER 0xed1c 2.4 GHz receiver on Windows, mouse and receiver firmware 3.3.13, is hardware-verified.

📝 Walkthrough

Adds AJAZZ AJ200/AJ200P product definitions, protocol codecs, and a WebHID client for device settings. Registers supported devices and exposes the protocol through package exports. Adds tests, UI hint fields, and protocol documentation.

Changes: AJAZZ AJ200P support

Layer / File(s) Summary
Product and protocol codecs
src/ajazz/aj200p-products.ts, src/ajazz/aj200p.ts, src/drivers/ajazz/aj200p-hid.test.ts
Defines the AJ200P product catalogue and settings-length rules. Adds packet encoding and reply, identity, settings, DPI, and key-map decoding, plus action mappings. Tests cover codec behavior, legacy DPI data, and product layouts.
HID client transactions and settings
src/drivers/ajazz/aj200p-hid.ts, src/drivers/ajazz/aj200p-hid.test.ts, scripts/fast-test-timers.mjs
Adds serialized read/modify/write transactions with acknowledgements and read-back verification. The client reads device status and updates profiles, mappings, polling, DPI, sleep, performance, and lighting settings. Tests cover transactions, validation, cancellation, and model-specific behavior.
Registry and public package integration
src/drivers/vendors.ts, src/drivers/registry.ts, src/drivers/mouse-types.ts, src/index.ts, package.json, docs/ajazz-aj200p.md
Adds AJ200P HID filters and registry support. Exposes the protocol through package exports and adds UI hint fields for lighting and sleep settings. Documents device IDs, protocol layouts, supported controls, and integration details.

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 1d840

This change adds AJAZZ AJ200/AJ200P mouse support with verified settings writes. It can be merged with small follow-ups. The full DPI option list is rebuilt on every call for high-DPI models. One test does not actually check the wired polling-rate limit on 1 kHz-only models.

Security architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to 1d840

Adding support for these mice introduces a bounded configuration-integrity risk: switching profiles during a save can affect a different onboard profile. No permission bypass was established in the reviewed path, but most hardware variants and the companion application's behavior remain unverified.

Retained concerns

  • Medium · reliability · inferred: Profile validation is a check-then-write sequence rather than an atomic bank binding. A physical profile switch or another configurator can change the active bank after the final pre-write identity response, allowing a complete keys, settings, or DPI block prepared for one bank to overwrite another. Subsequent checks can reject the operation only after that write, with no restoration path. Serialization and stale-profile checks contain ordinary same-client edits, but do not establish exclusive ownership of firmware bank selection. The resulting risk is unintended persistent configuration and input-mapping drift on the connected device.
Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — Each client operates on one supplied HIDDevice. The identified ownership failure can affect that device's onboard banks, including button assignments that produce keyboard or consumer/system actions. Catalogue support for 22 identities does not give a single client authority over every supported device.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — Normal registry construction requires vendor 0x363c, a catalogued product ID, and a recursively matching ffa0:02 HID collection. Discovery filters use those same identifiers. The constructor alone checks only product ID, but the reviewed registry path applies the full matcher before construction; no permission bypass is established by that difference.
  • observed — Device-controlled reports are filtered by report ID and expected command, checked for status and supported payload lengths, and then subjected to model-specific settings or DPI layout checks. Malformed matching replies reject the exchange; unrelated replies are ignored.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • observed — The per-client queue serializes operations and remains usable after rejection. Exchanges remove listeners and timers on completion or failure. Closing invalidates queued work and cancels a currently pending exchange, but waits for the queue before closing the device; it is not a rollback mechanism for writes already accepted.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Make the stable-bank and single-writer preconditions explicit, and define refresh/recovery behavior after failed saves. Treat profile checks as change detection unless firmware-supported bank-addressed writes or locking can establish atomic ownership.

The wired polling-rate rejection test does not test the model limit.

For every wired product, unsupportedRate is 16000. aj200pEncodeRate(16000) throws before updateSettings runs, so the check against product.wiredRates is never reached. The wired PAW3311 models (0xed03, 0xed06) advertise only RATE_1K. A regression that lets them write 2000–8000 Hz would still pass this test. Use the first protocol rate that the connection does not support.

Avoid rebuilding the complete DPI range on every call.

For PAW3955 profiles with 1-DPI steps up to 80,000, getDpiOptions() creates 80,000 entries each time it runs. Keep the complete writable range because validateDpi() accepts every in-step value. Do not replace it with a preset list. Cache the complete range or use a range-based consumer.
