OmniWork is an intelligent, agentic IDE desktop application built for Windows. It provides a dynamic, AI-driven workspace capable of assisting developers and students by combining a local LLM agent with system-level access.
Built using Tauri (Rust) for a lightweight, secure backend, and React + Vite (TypeScript) for a snappy, highly dynamic frontend UI.
- Agentic UI: The main application interface dynamically responds to your intents. The AI Chatbot exists as a sliding drawer overlay that hides itself when you are working on tasks, maximizing screen real estate for the Monaco Editor and the integrated Web Browser.
- Integrated Browser: A built-in web browser pane equipped with a CORS proxy (via
corsproxy.io) that bypasses restrictive headers, allowing the AI to load documentation and web pages natively alongside your code. - Local Sandboxed Execution: Securely write and run system-level code (e.g. Rust, Python) within the
workspace/directory via the AI, utilizing Tauri IPC commands that enforce path validation and execution boundaries. - Model Context Protocol (MCP): Supports connecting to external MCP servers to extend the AI's capabilities on the fly.
- Direct Preference Optimization (DPO): OmniWork tracks implicit feedback on AI decisions (e.g., modifying AI-generated layouts or code) to build a preference dataset to fine-tune local models (via Unsloth).
