Smart_Gebere Wiki

Introduction

Welcome to the official wiki for the Smart_Gebere project! This project aims to help farmers increase crop yield, prevent diseases, and optimize farming activities using AI, GPS integration, and machine learning. This wiki will provide an overview of the project, its features, and how to contribute.

Project Roadmap

Phase 1: Core Features

  • Crop Recommendations: Analyzing soil, weather, and historical data to suggest the best crops for the farm.
  • Disease Detection: AI-powered disease detection using image recognition.
  • Weather Forecasting: Real-time weather forecasts tailored to the farmer’s location.

Phase 2: Improvements and Enhancements

  • User Interface Enhancements: Improving the overall design and making the app more intuitive.
  • Multilingual Support: Adding support for multiple languages to serve a wider audience.
  • Offline Mode: Ensuring the app works without an internet connection, ideal for rural areas.

Phase 3: Additional Features

  • Market Prices Tracking: Monitoring local market prices for better sales planning.
  • AI Model Updates: Continuously improving the crop recommendation and disease detection models.

How It Works

  • Crop Recommendations: The app uses your farm’s location and other inputs to suggest the best crops to plant, helping farmers choose crops that will thrive in their environment.
  • Disease Detection: Users can take photos of their crops, and the app uses AI to detect diseases and provides actionable advice for treatment and prevention.
  • Weather Forecasting: The app provides real-time weather forecasts that help farmers plan their activities based on accurate, location-specific data.

Current Status

  • Active Development: The Smart_Gebere app is currently in active development with the core features being worked on, such as crop recommendations and disease detection.
  • Contributions Needed: We are looking for contributions in the areas of UI/UX design, machine learning model optimization, and adding more features like market prices and multilingual support.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • How accurate are the crop recommendations?

    • The crop recommendation system uses a combination of machine learning models, GPS data, and historical farming data. Accuracy will improve over time as the system gathers more data.
  • Can I use this app offline?

    • Offline functionality is under development. In future versions, we aim to provide offline support for rural areas where internet access is limited.
