A collection of skills for creating and running code generators using ribosome framework
Install with the skills CLI — it works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode and other agents:
# Install both skills into the current project (./.claude/skills/)
npx skills add DavidValin/codegen-skills
# Install globally, for every project (~/.claude/skills/)
npx skills add DavidValin/codegen-skills -g
# Preview what the repository contains without installing
npx skills add DavidValin/codegen-skills --list
# Install a single skill
npx skills add DavidValin/codegen-skills --skill run-ribosome-codegen
# Non-interactive install, e.g. in CI
npx skills add DavidValin/codegen-skills --skill '*' -g -a claude-code -yOther useful commands:
npx skills list # show installed skills
npx skills remove create-ribosome-codegen run-ribosome-codegenCopy the skill directories into your agent's skills directory:
git clone https://github.com/DavidValin/codegen-skills
cp -r codegen-skills/skills/* ~/.claude/skills/Both skills drive Ribosome, which must be installed separately. Pick the script matching the control language you generate with, make it executable and put it on your PATH:
| Control language | Script |
|---|---|
| JavaScript | ribosome.js |
| Ruby | ribosome.rb |
| Python | ribosome.py |
curl -L -o ~/.local/bin/ribosome.js \

chmod +x ~/.local/bin/ribosome.js
ribosome.js --versionVerify a skill is available by asking your agent to run a Ribosome generator, or with npx skills list.
Creates reusable Ribosome-based code generators that accept input data and generate source code or other text artifacts.
Runs an existing Ribosome code generator with input data and handles the resulting generated output.
The two skills are designed to work together:
