End‑to‑end encryption (E2EE) #23

Closed
Closed

Description

@mrsumanbiswas

Implement true end‑to‑end encryption using the Signal protocol (or a compatible library) for one‑to‑one and group chats.

  • Integrate a Dart/Go encryption library (e.g., libsignal, olm, or libsodium)
  • Perform key exchange upon first interaction (X3DH or similar)
  • Encrypt all message content on the sender’s device before it leaves the app
  • Decrypt only on the recipient’s device(s)
  • The server must never have access to plaintext keys or message content
  • Handle key rotation, device changes, and session resets

This is a critical privacy feature. Extensive testing and security review required.
