Systems programmer, 25 years down the stack: hypervisors, kernel drivers, backends, database internals.
- Core engineer on Parallels Desktop (2000–2011) — virtual disk subsystem, snapshot machinery, BIOS/EFI firmware, ACPI, device emulation. 1,600+ commits from x86 assembly to public SDK.
- Upstream Linux kernel patches (OpenVZ / container era).
- Parallels Access (2012–2015) — kernel-mode virtual audio & HID drivers on Windows (WDM/PortCls) and macOS (IOKit); real-time audio pipeline with lock-free ring buffers, Opus/WebRTC, sub-10ms latency across five OS targets.
- Parallels cloud backend (2015–2021) — 8+ Python/Django microservices and a Java/Spring proxy broker serving millions of users: licensing, GDPR, PKI/mutual TLS, zero-downtime MySQL migrations.
- Query optimizer and columnar execution engine for YDB, an open-source distributed SQL database (C++20).
- Backend platform & RAG stack at Constructor — ~10 Python microservices on Kubernetes; currently shipping Rust services built AI-first: generated code, human-validated (44K lines in production).
