An interactive, colorful, and safe CLI tuning tool for dedicated servers and VPS — by PingLess.ORG aka AnAverageBeing.
A single TUI-driven script that detects your hardware and applies conservative, reversible performance, security, and resource-limit tuning. No more memorizing sysctl keys or editing config files by hand.
Run the interactive optimizer directly from GitHub:
bash <(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/AnAverageBeing/Server-Optimizer/main/install.sh)Or with wget:
bash <(wget -qO- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/AnAverageBeing/Server-Optimizer/main/install.sh)Note: Run as
root. The script will refuse to start otherwise for safety.
- Auto-detects your CPU, NICs, kernel, and vcore count.
- Colorful terminal UI with
dialog/whiptailand a colored text fallback. - Dedicated Server and VPS modes.
- Performance tuning: BBR, CPU governor, IRQ balance, RPS/XPS, NIC queues/rings.
- Security hardening: SYN cookies, rp_filter, ICMP/source-route blocking, kernel restrictions.
- Resource limits: file-max, pid_max, nofile/nproc limits, systemd service limits.
- Swap management: ZRam or disk swap with size input.
- Dry-run mode: preview every change before it happens.
- Rollback: restore previous settings with one menu option.
- Idempotent: run it once or ten times — no duplicate entries.
- Cross-distro: supports
apt,dnf,yum,pacman, andapk.

The script never touches:
- RAID topology
- ZFS pool layout
- CPU voltage / PBO / Curve Optimizer
- Kernel security mitigations
- C-states (automatically)
- VM configurations
- XDP/eBPF programs
- MTU / IP addresses / routing / firewall rules
Every file the script modifies is backed up to /var/lib/auto-host-optimize/backup/ before the first change.
- Linux (kernel 5.15+)
rootprivilegesbash- Internet connection for dependency installation (optional if deps already present)
From the main menu choose Rollback, or run:
/root/auto-host-optimize.sh
# then select RollbackThis removes all created sysctl files, systemd services, limits, and swap configuration.
Before applying anything, enable Dry-Run Mode in the main menu. The script will print every command it would run without modifying your system.
