Linking MS1 and MS2 data

How do we link MS1 and MS2 data?
I suggest to check if a precursorMz and rtime of a Spectra are in a range rt +/- rtTolerance and mz +/- mzTolerance of a MS1 feature. If yes, it will get the ID of the MS1 peak, if not discard?
